2 WHO WE ARE Sonae Sierra Brasil is the shopping center specialist and one of the leading developers, owners and operators of shopping centers in Brazil, with a focus on excellence in quality. It s a company listed in the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) and its shareholders controlling are the European Sonae Sierra ( and the Germany investor Alexander Otto. The company owns 9 operating shopping centers and manages one more from third parties, totalizing thousand sqm of Gross Leasable Area (GLA) and 2,103 stores. ACTIVITY Our integrated approach to the shopping center business includes the ownership, development and management activities and the company has a clear and consistent strategy of growth through greenfields, acquisitions and the expansion and refurbishment of its assets. Initially approved in 1998, our Environmental Policy expresses a pioneering commitment within our sector, with particular regard to the environmental impacts of our activities. Sonae Sierra Brasil was the first company of the sector to create environmentally friendly shopping centers and to achieve certification for its Environmental Management (ISO standard) and Safety & Health Management (OHSAS standard) Systems - distinctions that confirm the quality and good practices implemented in these areas.
