4 EAT DRINK EALING When: 1 st -2 nd July, 10am 6pm Where: Ealing Common, W5 Entry: 3 on the door The newest addition to the festivals, Eat Drink Ealing is set to transform Ealing Common it into a culinary paradise from 1 st 2 nd July. A walking banquet of top-of-the-range and hand-selected gourmet traders complete with fresh produce, cocktails and real ale, the event will also feature live music and other light entertainment, including children s play areas so the little ones can play while you eat and drink to your heart s content. 4

5 GREENFORD CARNIVAL When: 8 th July, 12pm 7pm Where: Ravenor Park, UB6 Entry: Free Bringing the community together, Greenford Carnival is one of Ealing s most vibrant summer events. Taking place in Ravenor Park on July 8th, carnival goers will be treated to everything from children s activities including free art workshops, funfair rides and sport with QPR in the Community Trust, to baking competitions, dog shows, stellar music programming featuring Brindsley Aswad Forde, a huge variety of delicious food options and much, much more. 5

Attendees will receive a glass to enjoy their drinks and will receive a 3 refund if it is returned intact upon leaving. 6

From Dara O Briain to Rob Beckett and Julian Clary, the big top will billow with laughter as Walpole Park hosts some of finest comics Britain has to offer for five nights hilarity for a very reasonable price. Still dedicated to championing grassroots talent, however, the likes of Winnie & The Rockettes, Georgie Chapple, Andy Twyman and Tom Walker will also take to the stage across the weekend. With vocal support from neo soul legend Omar, pioneering saxophonist Courtney Pine tops the bill for the Saturday alongside Ghanaian highlife royalty, Ebo Taylor & The Saltpont City Band. Come Sunday and it will be time for Grammy Award winner Kenny Garrett and his Quintet to step up, with genre-bending trio Mammal Hands and gypsy jazz guitarist Remi Harris also due to perform. Don t miss Transe Express s Mobile Homme collaboration with the Dhol Academy a spectacular street theatre festival finale with fireworks! The ZEE London Mela, now celebrating its 15th year, is an established highlight in the capital s cultural calendar, an artistically-led celebration inspired by the culture of London s Asian communities and the global diaspora. 16 FAQS FOR WALPOLE PARK EVENTS Where is it? Just off Mattock Lane which runs parallel to Uxbridge Road / Ealing New Broadway. How can I get there? Walpole Park is less than a ten minute walk from Ealing Broadway station (District and Central Lines). South Ealing (Piccadilly Line) is another nearby tube station. From Ealing Broadway station there are also overland train routes from Paddington to Reading. Major bus routes include 65 from the South (Richmond), 207, 427, 607. East-West routes (from Shepherd s Bush towards Uxbridge), 83 from the North (Golders Green). Others include 112, 226, 297, E1, E2, E3, E7, E8, E9, E10 and E11. Where can I park? Limited paid parking is available at Springbridge Road and Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre car parks, as well as some pay and display parks around Walpole Park. However where at all possible we encourage visitors to use public transport. I m disabled, are there any special parking arrangements for me? Unfortunately not, but there are designated disabled bays by the small gate to the park on Mattock lane, you can also use either residents bays or pay & display bays on Mattock lane. Blue Badge must be displayed. What other information is there for disabled people? The Ealing Comedy Festival is our only seated event. Booking your ticket by phone rather than by the internet is encouraged so that you can be allocated an appropriate seat. We also offer a 2 for 1 ticket scheme whereby disabled customers can bring a carer or friend to the event for free (booking and transaction fees will apply). The event is held in a park so although there are pathways into the park, the event itself takes place on the grass. Disabled toilet facilities are provided at the event. Guide dogs can remain seated next to the customer. There is no infra-red headset or loop hearing system in place in the auditorium. What isn t allowed? No glass is to be brought onto the site. Animals, except for guide dogs, are not permitted onsite. No alcohol can be bought onto site upon re-entry with a festival wrist band, bar provided. Below are some tips on how you can help us be more eco-friendly: Arrive in style and avoid the hassle of parking; use public transport, or better yet, cycle (racks provided) or walk.
