2 LUNCHTIME CONCERT Horsham Food & Drink Festival BIG SCHOOL Tuesday 25 th September 12 noon An opportunity to enjoy a two course lunch, prepared by our on-site chefs using fresh local produce and a concert featuring some of our most talented young musicians. Weather permitting, you will also be able to watch the famous CH Band and pupils march into lunch. Tickets: 20 Please advise at time of booking if you have any specific dietary requirements. EVENING PUPILS RECITAL DOMINIONS THEATRE Tuesday 2 nd October 7.30pm A showcase of soloists of all ages. Free Admission, ticket not required BLACKBIRD THEATRE Friday 5 th October 7.30pm Blackbird explores the themes of homelessness, family breakdown, adoption and addiction. The play observes the strength and tenacity of the human spirit as it endures a profound sense of loss and belonging and a deep hunger and desire for a better life; the courage to keep faith and hope alive in the face of such adversity. Wisdom, empathy and a sense of the absurd, turn a colourless life into a magical existence, full of unseen wonders and revelatory insights. Blackbird is a Their Future Today production. All the money raised from the evening s performance will go to the charity, whose work in Sri Lanka raises funds to provide a new life for orphaned and abandoned children; changing their young lives, providing a family, an education and a real sense of purpose and belonging. 3 AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE THEATRE Monday 8 th October 7.30pm Flintlock Theatre return with a reimagined classic. Employing their signature high-energy storytelling, music and live digital interaction, Flintlock s irreverent style brings Ibsen s masterpiece into the 21st century in a searing examination of fake news, whistleblowing and who really wields power in contemporary Britain. Suitable for ages 11+. Tickets: Adults 8, Conc. 7, Friends 6 MO-SOUND SISTERS THEATRE Thursday 11 th October 7.30pm The Mo-Sound Sisters Showband are a stunning 3-piece female fronted tribute show performing the music and moves of the Motown Sound, backed by an incredible four piece live band. The Sisters are enjoying great success touring venues throughout the UK and have even supported The Temptations - helping them celebrate 50 years of the Motown sound. The girls incorporate all of the greatest hits of the Supremes mixed with some Martha and the Vandellas, and their take on hits from The Temptations, The Four Tops and many more. This fresh, funky vibrant mix is guaranteed to get you up, out of your seat and onto your feet to dance the night away! 4 CHRIST S HOSPITAL CHORAL SOCIETY CONCERT ST MARY S CHURCH, THE CAUSEWAY, HORSHAM Saturday 3rd November 7.30pm CHCS perform Elgar s The Spirit of England, one of his lesser-known works. This large-scale work, a requiem in intention, was first performed in October 1917, and sets three war poems by Lawrence Binyon, including For the Fallen. Alongside Elgar, the choir will sing a memorial work by another great English composer - the Funeral Sentences by Henry Purcell. 5 SCHOOL CONCERT BIG SCHOOL Sunday 25 th November 3.00pm The Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band are central in this exciting annual concert of our larger ensembles. The programme will also include performances of the winning songs from the recent House Unison Song Competition. Tickets: Adults 7, Conc. 6, Friends 5 WEST SIDE STORY THEATRE Thursday 29 th November to Saturday 1 st December 7.30pm Christ s Hospital presents this ambitious staging of Bernstein and Sondheim s musical masterpiece, West Side Story. If ever there was a relevant time to perform a piece about the tensions of migrants and nationals living side by side it is today. The PRs could easily represent today s Hispanic population and the response of (some) of the Jets could be a mouthpiece for the Wallbuilding Trump brigade in Join the Christ s Hospital Seniors as they dance, sing, play and act their way through a timeless classic in this collaboration between the Music and Drama departments. With Choreography from renowned Dancer and Choreographer David Lloyd and the usual energy and commitment from the Christ s Hospital Seniors, this promises to be a night out to remember. 6 BIG BAND CONCERT THEATRE Thursday 6 th December 8.00pm The popular CH Big Band performs a programme spanning decades of jazz and swing, also including smaller jazz groups and singers. Tickets: Adults 11, Conc. 10, Friends 9 SING-A-LONG-A GREASE THEATRE Thursday 24 th January pm The sing along screening of the classic film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton- John is brought to you by the producers of Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music. The evening begins with your host leading a vocal warm-up before they show you how to use your free interactive prop bag. You ll even get a chance to learn how to hand jive. Then just sit back and watch Danny & Sandy and the gang, while singing and dancing along to the lyrics as shown on the screen. It couldn t be easier... or more fun!
