3 MIAMI CITY BALLET JUSTIN PECK & SHEPARD FAIREY Sun, Jan 18, 3 pm Sun and Mon, Jan 18* and 19, 7:30 pm Prior to the March world premiere, see a preview of Heatscape, choreographer Justin Peck s new work for Miami City Ballet. Artist and graphic designer Shepard Fairey created the set design, combining ballet and street art in an unlikely yet inspired partnership. Company dancers will perform excerpts and Peck, Fairey (Jan 18 only), and Miami City Ballet artistic director Lourdes Lopez will participate in a discussion moderated by Ellen Bar of the New York City Ballet. Photo: Christopher Duggan & MUSIC NEW COMMISSION & WORLD PREMIERE PAM TANOWITZ & DAVID LANG Sun, Feb 22, 3 pm Sun and Mon, Feb 22 and 23, 7:30 pm See the premiere of Broken Story (wherein there is no ecstasy). Four composers, four dancers, four musicians, and a choreographer come together in this work commissioned by Works & Process. Composer David Lang, in collaboration with choreographer Pam Tanowitz, invited three composers who had never written for dance before, Ted Hearne, Hannah Lash, and Caroline Shaw, to create new works. Tanowitz intertwines these four new scores, which will be played live by the FLUX Quartet, with choreography performed by dancers Maggie Cloud, Dylan Crossman, Stuart Singer, and Melissa Toogood. Fourtime Tony-nominated composer Sydney Lucas and Michael Cerveris from The Public Theater s production of Fun Home. PONTUS LIDBERG : SNOW Mon, Apr 27, 7:30 pm SNOW, a turbulent choreographic work by Swedish choreographer, dancer, and filmmaker Pontus Lidberg, features four dancers and a highly expressive Japanese-style Bunraku puppet. Initially created to celebrate the centenary of Igor Stravinsky s The Rite of Spring, this winter Lidberg will re-envision the work with a new score by Ryan Francis. Prior to the New York premiere at the Joyce Theater, Lidberg will discuss the musical journey from Stravinsky to Francis, as well as the process of incorporating puppetry into the choreography. 6 SEATING AND TICKET ORDER INFORMATION Accessible Seats Orchestra Perimeter Mezzanine Partial View Performances in the Peter B. Lewis Theater are reserved seating. Order online to self-select best available seats. Mail or fax orders are assigned from the front to the back. Accessible seats are available. When all non-accessible seats have been sold, tickets for accessible seats may be sold to members of the general public. Most programs run 80 minutes without intermission. No late admission. Tickets purchased by phone or fax two weeks in advance will be mailed. The box office will call within two business days to confirm fax orders. All other tickets, including all online orders, will be ed or held at the box office and available for pick up one hour prior to performance. Standby tickets and $10 student rush tickets (for students under 25 with valid ID) may be purchased at this time if space allows.
