4 Introductory Speech Good afternoon. Hello everyone! It s so nice to have you here with us. You are all warmly welcome to this international event that brings to you short films and documentaries from all around the world. Now, before I proceed further, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ranjan Kumar Saha. I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from IIEST Shibpur, Formerly known as B.E. College Shibpur and I currently work for a multinational company as an Engineer. I have been appointed as the Festival Manager of this event with the permission of today s Festival Chairperson Padmashree Barun Majumder by Mr. Debasish Mandal, the Festival Controller of this event and founder of Model N Movie Training Institute. In fact, he is also an Aerospace Engineering Graduate from IIEST Shibpur and he is currently pursuing a Master s Degree course in Mass Communication and Journalism from Rabindra Bharati University. Now, having said all of this I would like to shift to the topic of the day and cut down short due to scarcity of time. This year, a total of 37 films will be screened as against 28 in the previous year. 42 films have been officially selected for this year as against 36 in the previous year. The number of certificates and awards have also been increased. The quality of films to be screened this year is far better on an average than that of the previous year. I am sure you will enjoy watching films here on diverse topics ranging from matters relating to our society, real-life events and many more. But what s more important is the message conveyed by many of the films to be screened today and tomorrow. So you will experience entertainment blended with education. One of our goals of watching films should be to learn good habits and implement them in our daily lives. I hope you will be inspired to do the same from the films we bring to you today and tomorrow. Having said all of this, I would like Mr. Debasish Mandal to take over the stage for the inauguration of this year s festival. I am pretty sure you will enjoy the festival. Thanks for your support! 5 Concluding Speech Thank you Mr. Debasish. Thank you to our esteemed guests for their presence and their blessings. Last but not the least, thank you to the participants and viewers. We are extremely grateful to all of you for your support in making this festival successful. I would not say much as we are just a few hours away from Christmas Day for which I guess viewers will need to reach home quickly for the much awaited celebrations. I hope you have enjoyed watching films that were screened here for the last couple of days. I hope that all of us have been able to imbibe a few lessons from many of these films and pledge that we shall implement these to our best possible abilities to enable us to grow intellectually and make our lives easier. In fact, films are a powerful tool to make this world a better place only if our mind is tuned to extract lessons and implement them in our daily lives. Humans have been created by Mother Nature to do the same. What we need is just a motivation to learn and Model N Movie is the perfect platform to provide the same. As organizers, we hope to bring more fun, more thrill, more entertainment and more vital lessons for our viewers next year as we hope to receive films of such a kind for the next year s festival. I have written numbers of Hindi & bengali scripts. Thereafter, I decided to make a film with a short span of time and minimal budget. I got able to complete the project named " BHARJA" ( The wife ). The only intention behind this film's to showcase my creativities to film lovers along with to know their opinions.
