A REGISTRATION BADGE IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION TO ALL CONVENTION EVENTS OTHER THAN THE AGO QUIMBY/REGIONAL COMPETITION WINNER'S RECITAL, AND OPENING AND CLOSING WORSHIP SERVICES. For those who may not wish to register as a conferee, General Admission Tickets ($10) may be purchased electronically from the convention website. DEAN S MESSAGE Dear Chapter Friends, What an honor it is for our chapter to host the 2015 AGO Southeast Regional Convention next month! The Charlotte AGO chapter is poised to present a convention which promises to represent the very best of our beautiful city. The convention steering committee has given tremendous dedication and effort in coordinating and planning this exciting opportunity! On behalf of the chapter, I extend sincerest gratitude to everyone who played a role in making it possible. Many of our chapter members have supported the convention with their time, financial generosity, and devotion. This collaborative effort has ensured a successful event which is dedicated to providing our conferees an experience of a lifetime! Please make plans to joins us each Sunday evening at 7pm for our annual Summer Recital Series. We look forward to hearing the many talented members of our chapter perform! The Director shall report to the Senior Pastor and provide vision and leadership for the entire Westminster music program. Other than the congregational hymns selected by the Senior Pastor, the Director shall select the music for all weekly worship services and special seasonal services and shall have a thorough knowledge of United Methodist worship services, sacred music, and all genres of Christian music. Lee Scott, Carlton Young, etc. We perform Christmas and Easter/Lenten cantatas each year, one of which is a major choral work. Our choir most recently performed the 3rd part of Handel's Messiah on Easter. Our choir consists of around 25 singers, 4 of which are choral scholarship students from Winthrop. Rehearsals are 7 pm Wednesday nights and 9:45 am on Sunday mornings. The choir is usually off the month of July and there are no Wednesday rehearsals in June or July. While we perform serious music, the choir is a fun loving, laid back bunch that considers the meaning behind the music as important as the music itself.
