A wonderful montage of music was performed beautifully for many appreciative audiences. Jane Cain is to be commended for her excellent leadership in coordinating the many details which goes into a successful series. Thank you, Jane! If you have not yet renewed your chapter membership, I encourage you to do so. Your dues not only provides a subscription to The American Organist magazine, but a significant portion is used to facilitate chapter programming throughout the year. If you have any questions about renewing, please contact Lance Burnette who will be glad to assist you. Please keep chapter member Budd Kirby in your thoughts after quadruple bypass surgery. Chapter programming begins this month with an opening celebration hosted by Christ Lutheran Church. Please see details inside this issue and make plans to attend! 4 Toll-free Parsley Lane Mocksville North Carolina Value Promptness Knowledge Quality Latest Østerhåb Kirke, Horsens, Denmark Dedicatory recital by Prof. Ulrik Spang-Hanssen, June 9, 2013 This was our first overseas project with which we broke a historic barrier we became the first ever American firm to build an instrument in Denmark, a country famous for consistently great organs and meticulous builders. We were deeply honored to have been chosen, and were excited to deliver a one of a kind instrument. The specification called for 26 stops, including a 32 Contra Bourdon in the pedal. The church building offered excellent acoustics with approximately four seconds of reverberation in an intimate, not-too-large room of very modern design. Key action is mechanical and stop action is electric with electronic memory. This organ was featured on the cover of The American Organist magazine in August of 2013.

Necessary Skills: Demonstration of graduate level mastery of the advanced organ repertoire (including Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Twentieth Century, etc.), superior level hymn and service playing skills to include (but not be limited to) the ability to creatively craft modulations and improvise on themes in all keys and in multiple styles (i.e., baroque, classical, romantic, symphonic including modern styles/rhythms/tone colors such as gospel and jazz). Exhibit exceptional rehearsal skills, including the ability to confidently play from an open score, exceptional sight reading, play individual parts in all keys and rhythmic combinations with accuracy. Ability to accompany at the piano with a high level of artistry and flexibility is also imperative. Experience leading hand bells is favorable, but not required. Qualified developing artists and those from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply Minimum Qualifications: Committed Christian, comfortable with the United Methodist Church tradition. Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance with 5 years experience in an appropriate church environment. Working knowledge of liturgical music required. Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, a heart for service/community and attentiveness to details are necessary. Part-time: Competitive salary, commensurate with education & experience.
