11 The Jo-Michael Scheibe Sacred Choral Series This series is committed to roviding the inest crated sacred choral music ossible with the objective o ensuring that it may be used in worshi and in schools when aroriate. Jo-Michael Scheibe Jo-Michael Scheibe chairs the Thornton School o Music s Deartment o Choral and Sacred Music at the University o Southern Caliornia, where he conducts the USC Chamber Singers, teaches choral conducting and choral methods, and suervises the graduate and undergraduate choral rogram. He served as National President o the American Choral Directors Association rom and reviously served as the organization s Western Division President, as well as National Reertoire and Standards Chairerson or Community Colleges. Ensembles under his leadershi have sung at seven national ACDA conventions, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, X World Choral Symosium in Seoul, as well as, two national conventions o the Music Educators National Conerence and various regional and state conventions. Scheibe s artistic collaborations include choral erormances with Luciano Pavarotti, José Carreras, Salvatore Licitra, Maria Guleghina, The Rolling Stones, Sir Elton John, Barry Manilow and Kenny Loggins, as well as rearation o choruses or Sir Colin Davis and the London Symhony Orchestra, Franz Welser-Möst and the Cleveland Orchestra, Michael Tilson Thomas and the New World Symhony and conductors Helmuth Rilling, and Jerey Kahane and the Los Angles Chamber Orchestra, Jahja Ling, Edoardo Müller, James Judd, Max Valdez, Thomas Sanderling and Alain Lombard, among others. Recordings o ensembles under Scheibe s direction have been released on the Albany, Cane, Naxos, Arsis and ANS labels. Scheibe has served as music and artistic director o several community choral organizations, including the Master Chorale o South Florida, the Tama Bay Master Chorale and the Long Beach Master Chorale. He has directed music ministries in churches as well, most recently at Coral Gables Congregational Church, where he conducted the Chancel Choir and Vocal Ensemble, which aeared at the 2002 ACDA Southern Division Convention in Nashville. A member o Chorus America, the International Federation o Choral Music, and several other roessional and education organizations, Scheibe is in requent demand internationally as a clinician, conductor and adjudicator or choruses at the university, community college, community and secondary levels. Kevin T. Padworski serves as the Artistic Director o The Colorado Chorale, Artistic Director o Seicento Baroque Ensemble, and the Associate Conductor o The Colorado Children s Chorale. Padworski erorms extensively, and has been the reciient o numerous honors and awards declaring mastery in multile discilines: conducting, voice, saxohone, and keyboards. Proessional aearances include the Colorado Reertory Singers, Colorado Choral Arts Society, Colorado Symhony, Colorado Symhony Chorus, Cincinnati Children s Choir, Dallas Symhony, DCINY Concerts Orchestra, Evans Choir, Jubilate Deo Chorale and Orchestra, Lamont Symhony Orchestra, Oera Colorado, University o Denver, Stratus Chamber Orchestra, American Batist Churches USA, and numerous collaborative and solo erormances. As a comoser he actively writes or soloists, instrumental, and choral ensembles with a articular interest in creating robust and engaging accomaniments. Uon receiving the Mozart Music Scholarshi at Eastern University, Padworski earned a Bachelor o Music degree in Music Education with recitals in saxohone and organ. He later earned a certiicate in Leadershi rom the Foundations rogram at Duke Divinity School, and a Master o Music degree in Conducting with Choral Concentration rom the University o Denver s Lamont School o Music, where he was nominated or a Recital o Distinction and was named Outstanding Conductor.
