5 Cy Miessler is currently a sophomore percussion performance major at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He began his percussion studies in the sixth grade, studying with Dean Beltram. Miessler attended Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, where he continued his studies with Dean Beltram and Daniel Vega. While attending high school, he successfully auditioned for the Texas All-State band his sophomore, junior, and senior years, earning the first-chair spot his senior year. He now studies with John Tafoya and has also studied with Kevin Bobo, Michael Spiro, and Steve Houghton. Miessler also enjoys acting, camping, cooking, and composing.
