Pierluigi da Palestrina (ca ) is the acknoledged ster of the sixteenthcentury sacd lyphonic style, and his music psents the epitome of the classic Renaissance ideals of straint, concordance, and alance. Palestrina orked most of his life in Rome, and the ority of his orks e comsed as service music for the Ron atholic hurch. Reved in his lifetime, his music has ecome the asis for ny texts on sixteenthcentury counterint in the 400+ years since his death.
