For ten seasons he was a member of the orchestra in Spoleto, Italy for Gian Carlo Menotti s Festival of Two Worlds, also performing several seasons in Charleston, South Carolina. While still an undergraduate at the University of Iowa he was named Resident Percussionist with the Center for New Music, where he cultivated a reputation as skilled performer of complex contemporary scores. He has performed at festivals and conferences at universities across the nation, from Harvard to Alaska. He holds the B.A. in Music Education and M.A. in Music Performance from the University of Iowa. He can be heard with Spoleto Festival groups on the Chandos Label, also having recorded for Innova, Aca, Music & Arts, and Albany. He resides in rural Solon, Iowa.
