Gold Meets Golden began as a featured party leading in to the 2013 Golden Globe awards, honoring the athletes of the 2012 Season. The concept was elevated to an official after-party at the Globes with a send-off salute to the 2014 Olympians, an Oscar weekend event celebrating the Special Olympics in 2015, and additional athlete activity at various Hollywood premieres throughout the year. 3

The Rio Olympics will be a particular focus of this years event EVENT The main Gold Meets Golden event returns to the 2017 Golden Globes Weekend on JANUARY 7-8, In a special daytime Saturday event, Veteran, Rio Olympians and other 2016 Top Athletes will be greeted by Golden Globe nominees and winners, and other Hollywood celebrities, to mingle and share their inspring stories with one another. On Sunday January 8 th, the athlete honorees will have a chance to attend the Golden Globes red carpet and parties, and a select few will present at the actual Globes show. 6
