2 Dear Potential Sponsor, igen Film Festival 01 2 The igen Film Festival (formerly the Elijah Wells Youth Indie Film Festival) will take place October 19-21, 2018, in Historic Overtown. The mission of the igen Youth Film Festival is to help emerging filmmakers ages around the world, reach the broadest possible audience and to generate international dialogue through cinema. We are delighted that every year we draw packed houses as our community shows its support for essential films and aids us in maintaining our success as a promoter of arts, culture, and education. The igen Film Festival looks to promote a new generation of emerging film filmmakers who are enriching the artistic landscape of film. This year s festival lineup will include engaging and thought-provoking films, expert speakers and audience interaction. The festival will provide a platform for film creatives to find their voice in a rapidly expanding landscape. Last year we screened over 20 films. Some of our attendees included filmmakers from Africa and Brazil. This year we will continue to showcase challenging, intriguing and creative film content from highlighting issues that affect us all. The success we ve been able to enjoy is because of the commitment from our sponsors and partners. With that in mind, we ask you to join us as a supporter and help us to continue to provide a platform for filmmakers. 3 igen FILM FESTIVAL OVERVIEW igen Film Festival 3 The igen Film Festival (formerly the Elijah Wells Youth Indie Film Festival) will take place October 19-21, 2018 in Historic Overtown. The mission of the igen Film Festival is to provide a platform for emerging filmmakers ages 16-25, around the world to reach the broadest possible audience and to generate international dialogue through cinema. The festival looks to celebrate and inspire filmmakers to develop their technical and creative skills. We are delighted that every year we draw packed houses as our community shows its support for essential films and aids us in maintaining our success as a promoter of arts, culture, and education. The igen Film Festival looks to promote a new generation of emerging youth film filmmakers who are enriching the artistic landscape of film. This year s festival will include engaging and thought-provoking films, expert speakers and audience interaction. The festival will provide a platform for film creatives to find their voice in a rapidly expanding landscape. The creative force behind the festival is Elijah Wells, President, and CEO of Elijah Wells Films. The company has become a staple brand in the film industry, specializing in documentary and filmmaking. Elijah produced the short film The Gift, which was the American Black Film Festival s 2012 Community Short Film Showcase winner. Key industry leaders and celebrities which include; Jeff Friday, Founder of American Black Film Festival, Robert Townsend, Spike Lee, Omari Hardwick and Joann Payton have all lent their support to Elijah.The Miami Times refers to Elijah Wells as one of our very own indie filmmaker's.
