1 Jitterbug Jive Dedicated to the Bop, Shag and Swing Dance Styles Volume 29 Issue 10 March 2018 Whoo Hoo! It just keeps getting better all the time! We now have a new floor to dance on, all on one level, and what can be better than that! Yes, we are working though some minor issues, and the Hotel is still putting the final touches on where our DJ will sit, where the speakers will be hung, but hey that s not bad news. It just means that the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel is planning on having us in the Lounge, and they are thinking of us. I continue to communicate with the General Manager and the Food and Beverage Manager, and we see changes that help us at our each and every Saturday night dance. Valentine s Day! Jim and Janie Thompson came through yet again for us! Red, Red, Red everywhere! A great dance, a great party, and we even broke in our new Casanova Mr. Al Posnack! Looking ahead, March 10th is our Monthly Membership meeting night. We gather in the Millennium Maxwell House Praline s Restaurant and eat dinner (yes, you have to pay for your own dinner), then have a short (usually no more than a half hour) meeting. We meet around 6:00 PM, the meeting starts at 6:30 PM, and you are dancing by 7:00 PM. Can you come and see what is going on? If you are a member you sure can all members are welcome. Our club works to please you our members, and we have open meetings so that you have a voice in your club. What do we talk about? Well, one item on the agenda is our upcoming Summer Boogie Blast. We are planning, planning and planning on what we will do for our 30th year anniversary of the Music City Bop Club. We ll talk about upcoming monthly parties, and just discuss club stuff. celebration! And of course our March babies are all Irish as well! The Lounge will be greened up for this party, and will be decorated with all things green and Irish and every year I think that just maybe we can get George and Chuck to serve that elusive green beer Let me introduce you to our Music City (THIS YEAR we have a new Food and Bop Club. This is not my fair warning note just a reminder that for the past 17 years we have sold out on this party, and I fully anticipate that we will sell out again this year. Less than 80 days to go!
