The Yukon Film & Sound Incentive Program, adminitered by the Yukon Film & Sound Commiion. Thee program work to upport Yukon film and ound profeional in creating project that maximize Yukon employment opportunitie, creating dynamic local career and contribute to building and diverifying our local economy. Our territory i home to a vibrant film indutry that include talented producer and highly killed crew. With expane of mountain, ample unlight, and endle nowcape, Yukon ha proved to be a premier filming detination. Our ound indutry boat world-cla ound recording facilitie and platinum recording artit. With everything from veteran touring muician to youth band, we re proud to ay Yukon muic indutry i divere and growing. I invite you to learn more about how Yukon Film & Sound Incentive Program have helped upport thee burgeoning indutrie. During the fical year, over $1.1 million in funding wa approved under thee program to upport a variety of film and ound project. Since the Yukon Film & Sound Incentive program inception in 2003, $8.45 million ha been awarded to 439 film and ound-related project and initiative. For the firt time, the report include information on the Enterprie Trade Fund for the film and ound indutrie. In 2015/16, an additional $123,000 wa provided to 40 project, allowing Yukon buinee to take their product out to the marketplace. Yukon government i pleaed to upport thee program and provide opportunity for indutry growth. 3 Yukon Film Location Incentive $718,531 The Yukon Film Location Incentive encourage production companie to film in Yukon and hire and train Yukoner. There are three component to thi incentive program. Yukon Spend Rebate - Televiion program, televiion movie (Movie of the Week), documentarie and feature film are eligible for a rebate of up to 25 per cent of below-the-line Yukon pend, provided criteria are met. Commercial are not eligible. Training Rebate - Production are eligible for a rebate of up to 25 per cent of wage paid to individual providing on-et training (technique and equipment) for eligible Yukon labor. Commercial are not eligible. Travel Rebate - Production are eligible for a 50 per cent rebate on travel cot, ubject to a percentage and dollar maximum, depending on the production type. Commercial are eligible. There were three complete application to the Film Location Incentive Program in 2015/16. 4 Yukon Film Development Fund $34,202 Under the Yukon Film Development Fund, up to 50 per cent of actual Yukon expenditure to a maximum of $35,000, or 33 per cent of total project expene, whichever i the leer, i available to Yukon reident or Yukon corporation to ait with the cot of development of film project in Yukon. The applicant hould have marketplace upport in the form of a broadcat development agreement or a ditribution arrangement. An additional $10,000 i available to an applicant if the broadcater or ditributor require more enior peronnel, not available in Yukon, to be attached to the project. 5 Yukon Film Production Fund $198,552 Under the Yukon Film Production Fund, up to $500,000 per project i available to Yukon corporation with ignificant financial and creative control over a film project to ait with the cot of producing the film in Yukon. The applicant i required to have marketplace upport in the form of a broadcat licene or a ditribution arrangement for a minimum of 10% of the production budget. Requet for amount over the maximum of $500,000 are ubject to Management Board approval. For production olely controlled by a Yukon reident or corporation, the contribution will be baed on 30 per cent of Yukon expenditure, or 30 per cent of total production cot, whichever i the leer. For co-production, the contribution will be baed on 30 per cent of Yukon expenditure, or 20 per cent of total production cot, whichever i the leer.
