3 I - INTRODUCTION: At the request of DOMINION EXPLORERS INC., a Geoogica Survey was undertaken, by Exporation Services Reg'd, during the months of September and October, 1989, on the "Pipe River" caim group which is ocated in the Mishibishu area of northwestern Ontario. The Geoogica Survey was carried out within the framework of a comprehensive exporation program, as a possibe guide to the evauation of the expo ration potentia of the area. II - PROPERTY: The "pipe River" caim group consists of 10 sixteen hectare caims which is jointy owned by CENTRAL CRUDE LTD. and NORONT RESOURCES LTD. [Dominion Exporers Inc. is the project manager] This rectan guar caim bock is approximatey 7.6 Km in ength and. Km in width. The caim numbers pertinent to this caim bock are isted, in numerica order, in appendix I. i - LOCATION A ACCESSIBILITY: The "Pipe River" caim group is ocated on the north shore of Lake Superior, at an approximate distance of 70 Km due west of the town of Wawa, Ontario. - SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO.-

4 - - The area is accessibe, from the town of Wawa, by traveing northwards aong highway 17, up to Fungus Lake, a distance of 0 Km. From this point on highway 17, an access road eads southwestwards to the Magnacon Mine and the Eage River property. A traveing distance of 5 Km is required to reach a heicopter base which ies at the intersection of the Magnacon road and the road eading to the Eage m River project. The caim group ies at an approximate distance of 5 Km to the southwest of the heicopter base. IV - GEOLOGICAL SURVEY; M The Geoogica Survey was carried out aong north- south cross ines cut at every 00 meter intervas aong a 7. Km ong base ine which trends in an east-west direction. The cross ines extend nortwards to a maximum distance of 1 50 m and south- wards to a maximum ength of 1 5 m. Thus a tota of 0.1 ine Km have been covered by the geoogica B survey The obtained geoogica information has been potted on a map at the scae of 1 : j Because of the abundance of rock exposure, individua outcrops have not been defined per se - they are incuded within the boundaries of the "outcrop area". 5 A - Genera Geoogy; The main rock types observed on the "Pipe River" caim group are briefy described as foows: 1 - GRANITE; Coour; A fresh exposure of this rock exhibits a peppering of sma back dots on a ight greyish background; the atered surface of the granite is ight pink, spottec grey. Minera Composition; The composition of the granite is homogeneous throughout the proper ty; it consists essentiay of 0* quartz as medium sized to arger rounded grains, 0* fedspar occurring mosty as euhedra crys tas and crysta aggregates, and 15* biotite observed as sma greenish-back fakes disseminated throughout the rock. Magnetite occurs as an accessory minera as very fine grains distributed throughout the granite. The quartz grains are very transucent, a few, surrounding the biotite, are oive gree in coour, others have been stained pink. - SERVICES EXPLORATION INRG.

6 1 - * - The fedspar grains are weaky zoned; no poysynthetic twinning has been observed. Texture; The granitic texture of this rock is evident, however it is aso weaky por phyritic: 0* o f the quartz grains are argei than the average size of the quartz, fed spar and biotite that constitute the rock fabric. Spacia Distribution; The granite covers approximatey 70S of the property's surface area and is part of a arge bathoith that g extends from the Red Sucker Harbour on the ^ shore of Lake Superior and eastwards for * many mies. - BIOTITE TRONDHJEMITE; ' Coour; Parae back streaks are imposed B on a greyish pink background. The aterd B surface is generay grey to pinkish grey. Minera Composition; The biotite trondhjemite contains approximatey 75* oigocase m fedspar, 1-15S quartz and 105K biotite. The quartz and fedspars are medium grained and equigranuar; the biotite occurs as smaer - SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRG. -

7 grains or fakes within eongated custers. m T exture; The trondhjemite is generay * gneissic; the weak foiation is defined in tt part by the parae orientation of the biotite fakes, the parae orientation of the eongated biotite custers and aso by the parae aignment of the quartz aths. B Spacia Distribution; The trondhjemite occurs as a mie wide band sandwiched between the vocanic rocks to the west and northwest and the granite bathoith to the B south and southeast. This rock type occupie j the northwestern and western part of the caim group and covers approximatey 5 * of its surface area. N.B. the contact between the trondhjemite ant the granite is gradua - the contact betweer the trondhjemite and the vocanics passes through a MIGMATITE phase. - SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO. -

8 j MIGMATITE; Coour; This mutiayered rock consists of pinkish-grey beds of varying thicknesses interayerd with darker horizons. Minera Composition; THe ight ayers referred to above are granitic in compositior The dark ayers are mafic in composition and contain variabe amounts of amphiboe and biotite with minor variabe amounts of quart; and fedspar. Texture; gneissic; The texture of the Migmatite is The foiation is caused in part by the minera segregations, by the parae orientation of the paty mineras and aso by the preferred aignment of the prismatic g mineras [amphiboe]. * Spacia distribution; Ony a few outcrops of B Migmatite have been observed within the cain group - they occur in the northwestern cornet of the property. Approximatey 5 Si of the property's surface area is covered by the Migmati te. - SERVICES EXPLORATION CNRO.-

9 - PEGMATITE: Coour; The coour of this rock type is * samon-pink with an irreguar distribution B of arge patches of white. Minera Composition; The pegmatites contain essentiay ony two mineras: approximatey 0S5 quartz interstitia between arge feds par crystas. Texture; The minera assembage of the pegmatite dykes exhibit a "pegmatitic" texture. Spacia Distribution; The pegmatites have been observed chiefy in the trondhjemites in the northern part of the property; they occur as sma and irreguar dykes of random orientation and distribution. - D IABASE: Coour; A fresh exposure of this rock type exhibits a dark brown to back coour. The weathered surface of this rock is generay dark brown. - SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO.'

10 - * Minera Composition; 8 - The diabase contains approximatey 5055 grey fedspars and 50* dark mafic mineras such as amphiboes and m p yroxenes. Accessory mineras may be quartz oivine, chorite, magnetite and pyrite. Texture; Generay, the diabase is granitic [gabbroic] in texture, containing equigranu ar mineras. Grain size increases inwards from the aphanitic chied borders. Spacia Distribution; The diabase occurs as dykes of varying widths, most of which are approximatey 10 to 5 meters wide. Most trend in a southeast-northwest direction; a few trend east-west, northeast-southwest and north-south. The abundance of diabase dykes increases from north to south i.e. they are more * abundant near the shores of Lake Superior. The diabase dykes woud constitute approxi- I. matey 55 of the tota rock mass of the area SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRG. -

11 B - Economic Geoogy: Even thought the granite contains an abundance of siica, very few quartz veins have been observed within it or within the adjoining trondhjemite. Magnetite is widey distributed, however pyrite is extremey rare. Ony one "showing" was found on the entire caim group; it occurs in the northeastern part of the property, south of Ghisain Lake and west of cross ine E. The "showing" consists of a meter wide fractun zone containing a 0.8 meter wide quartz vein with quartz stringers in the adjacent granite. The granite adjacent to the quartz vein contains up to 10Si disseminated grains of pyrite. This "showing" is exposed in a south, southeast trending ravine for an approximate ength of 10 meters. Five sampes have been taken from the mineraized exposure, the resuts of which are as foows: Sampe no. Description Au Assay/ppb 519 qtz. veins in granite 0 50 qtz vein - soth end qtz - main vein 10 5 granite + 1 0SJ py 6

12 1 5 stringer zone - some py A few sma veins with some pyrite in the adjacen granite has been ocated in the stream bed of a f stream fowing westward from Ghisain Lake; two sampes were taken and assayed 5 and 5 ppb Au respectivey. Another sma vein with pyrite has aso been observed in the migmatite rocks ocated in the northwestern part of the property. A sampe taken assayed 6 ppb Au. A few other quartz stringers and veins have been observed on the property, most of which are in th vicinity of Gervais Lake. The quartz occurs in fractures or fracture zones - pyrite is absent. Some ateration occurs aong the major fracture zones or negative ineaments - when present, the ateration is evidenced by the red to purpish cooration of the fedspars as they become kaoinized.

13 t C - Structura Geoogy; M 1 - Fauts; No fauts per se have been observed on the property - shear zones appea to be totay absent, even outcrop exposures aong stream and river beds show no evidence of shearing; however dispacements aong fractures is possibe. - Fractures; Numerous arge scae fractures are evident, especiay aong pronounced negative ineaments which criss-cross the M area in many directions. The most pervasive negative ineaments trend in an east, northeast direction. Many of g B f the smaer negative ineaments have been caused by the preferred gacia erosion of the diabase dykes, most of which trend south east - northwest. m - Foiation: The biotite trondhjemite and the migmatite are foiated; generay the * foiation panes strike northeast and dip M t o the northwest at approximatey SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRG.-

14 -1- D - Interpretation of the Airborne Geophysica Data Airborne geophysica surveys have been carried out, on the "Pipe River" property, by Aerodat Lt( m d uring the summer of The compied data were used as a guide to the geoogica survey. The airborne surveys incuded: a - Magnetometer Survey [ tota fied A gradient m b - Eectromagnetic Survey [V.L.F.] c - Resistivity Survey d - Radar Survey The interpretation of the above surveys, as. evidenced by fied observations, is briefy described as foows: a - Magnetometer Survey; The compied data of J ^ the tota fied and gradient survey indicate the presence of a very compexe geoogica area. It aso indicates that the mean magnetic intensity increases to the southwest and that the main magnetic pattern indicates m m osty southeast-northwest trending geoogica features. H Fied observations indicate that the highy compex pattern is caused by 55S of the rock type, i.e. by the numerous southeast trending SER VICES EXPLORATION ENRO.- '

15 * diabase dykes that intrude the magneticay uniform granite and trondhjemite which account for 90S of the rock types of the area. The individua magnetic airborne anomaies are caused by the arger diabase dykes,those whose width is in excess of 10 meters. The M average magnetic intensity however, increase to the southwest because of the increasing * number of sma diabase dykes in that area. The individua magnetic airborne magnetic IJ anomaies occasionay end abrupty and sometimes are truncated: this may indicate dispacement aong fracture panes. If the diabase dykes of the area were absent the magnetic pattern woud be uniform throughout the entire area. b - Eectromagnetic Survey - V.L.F. The EM survey outined 1 conductors on the "Pipe River" caim group, 1 of which trend B in a southeast direction. Most of these conductors are coincident with the strong M m agnetic anomaies, i.e they are aso SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO. "

16 g coincident with the negative ineaments caused by the preferentia erosion of the -1- diabase dykes, most of which trend southeast. c - Resistivity Survey; The areas of owest resistivity are superficia in nature and are coincident with the akes, swamps and areas of thicker overburden, i.e. those area: M devoid of outcrops, [0S5 of the tota and a rea of the property], d - Radar Survey; Numerous radar ineaments have been obtained by the survey - they are B m coincident with the topographica negative ineaments; they thus indicate the presence of dominent fracture panes, many of which, are coincident with diabase intrusions. - SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO.-

17 V - CONCLUSIONS; The geoogica survey covering the "Pipe River" property has indicated that 9058 of the surveyed area is underain by granite and trondhjemite with some m m igmatite in the northwestern part of the grid. The m mm a bove rocks have been intruded by numerous diabase dykes, most of which trend in a southeast direction. The geoogica fied investigation has faied to outine the presence of shear zones or important showings: quartz veins and stringers are uncommon and ony occurrences of pyrite have been observed Of a the sampes taken for assay, the highest returned 6 ppb/au I V I - RECOMMENDATIONS; Because of the abundance of outcrops, most of the f property has been adequatey investigated and no additiona exporation is deemed necessary at this U time; however, the northwestern part of the caim g roup ies between the "granitic" rocks to the south- east and the "vocanic" rocks to the northwest and contains ony a few outcrops. This area coud be further investigated and evauated by carrying out B fj an induced poarization survey in order to outine any sufide zones that might be present in the area. The "Pipe River" caim group consists of 10 sixteen hectare caims which is jointy owned by CENTRAL CRUDE LTD. and NORONT RESOURCES LTD. [Dominion Exporers is the project manager]. This rectanguar caim bock is approximatey 7.6 Km in ength and. Km in width. Heicopters based at the intersections g of the roads eading to the Magrtacon Mine,the Granges project and Noranda's Eage River property, may then be used to reach the caim group, an additiona distance of 5 Km to the southwest. IV - GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY; The geochemica survey was carried out aong northsouth cross ines cut at every 00 meter intervas aong a 7. Km ong base ine trending in an east- B west direction. The cross ines extended to a maximum ength of 1 50 meters north of the base ine and to a maximum ength of 1 5 meters south of the base ine. Thus a tota of 0.1 ine Km have been m c overed by the geochemica survey. Soi sampes of the "B" horizon were taken at every 5 meter intervas [wherever possibe] and then forwarded to Wawa Assaying Inc., to be assayed for god in parts per biion [ppb]. The obtained resuts were then potted on a map at the scae of 1:5000 which accompanies this report. SERVICES EXPLORATION ENRO.'

29 - - A tota of 1,jSi* soi sampes have been coected and assayed for god in parts per biion; 97.* of the sampes assayed between O and 0 ppb - the remaining.85 assayed between 0 and 100 ppb. Ony sampes assayed above 100 ppb - 106,11 1 ppb respectivey. No discernabe anomaic patterns have been observed other than that the number of assays greater than 0 ppb increases westward from cross ine 10E. The reationship between the ines and the number of assays greater than 0 ppb has been tabed on appendix II. In addition to the soi sampes, rock sampes, mosty quartz veins, have been coected throughout the property - the highest assay read 6 ppb. V - CONCLUSION; In genera, the survey has faied to outine areas containing anomaous god vaues. The surveyed area is mosty underain by "granitic 1 rocks -however the increasing number of "anomaous" vaues obtained west of the Pipe River, may be caused by the east, southeast fowing drainage system which originates from areas underain by vocanic and sedimentary rock units occuring immediatey to the west of the "pipe River" property. 30 - A - VI - RECOMMENDATIONS; The contact between the "granitic" rocks and the vocanic-sedimentary units occurs in the extreme northwestern part of the property - this area aso contains numerous "anomaous" god vaues. MANAGEMENT COMPANY - DOMINION EXPLORERS INC. 1. INTRODUCTION A compiation and evauation of the Pipe River Propery was carried out by JVX on behaf of Centra Crude Limited and Noront Resources Ltd. The management of the property has been undertaken by Dominion Exporers Inc. The object of the study was twofod. First to compie and present the current geophysica and geoogica database of the property and second to guide future exporation in order to estabish diamond dri targets.. COMPILATION AREA AND CLAIMS The Pipe River property ies north of Lake Superior, approximatey 65 kiometres south-southwest of the town of Wawa. The property ies 16 km west of Noranda/Centra Crude's Eage River deposit. The property is ocated at 'N and 'W atitude and ongitude respectivey. The Magnacon/Eage River road ies within 16 km of the property. A heicopter is stationed on the Magnacon-Eage River road. (For ocation see Figures and 1A.). The property consists of 10 caims, numbered to 77 (1 caims), to 98 (11), to 19 (11), to 0 (11), to 6 (1), to 588 (10), to 60 (10), to 65 (10), to 68 (10), and to 711 (5) (see Figure.). The property is in the Saut Ste. Marie Mining Division.. PRESENTATION AND SOURCES OP COMPILATION DATA The compiation project entaied the production of two presentations, caims and compiation, at a scae of 1:5000. Pate is a caim map showing the property boundary and the interna caim boundaries as we as the topographic eevations. Pate shows the topography, property boundary, outcrops and ithoogy, magnetic anomay axes, synthetic Aperture radar (SLR) ineaments, Heicopter EM anomaies, and VLF conductor axes.

46 JVX * The topographic base, i.e. the akes, creeks, atitude and ongitude registration marks, eevations, etc. were derived from a bow-up of the 1:50,000 NTS topographic map. The caim boundaries were taken from the Ontario Mining Lands Commission caim maps bown up from the origina scae of inch equas one-haf mie or one-quarter mie. The caim boundaries are highy ideaized. A geoogy came from inch to 1/ mie pubished Ontario Geoogica Survey (OGS) map P-971 based on mapping carried out in The ithoogy of the outcrops is indicated and structura features are noted. Grid ines were cut at 00 metre intervas. The ocations were taken from a 1:5000 myar base prepared by Dominion Exporers Inc. The SLR ineaments were derived from a 1:50,000 compiation of images obtained from wide-swath, c-band data coected on the th of May, Airborne EM, VLF, and mag anomaies were taken from a survey of the property fown by Aerodat Limited in September, 1988 on behaf of Dominion Exporers Inc. Fauts were taken from the OGS mapping or interpreted from the airborne geophysics.. DISCUSSION OF RESULTS.1 Genera Geoogy The Pipe River Property ies on the north shore of Lake Superior, and south of the southern imb of the Mishibishu Lake Greenstone Bet of the Archean Superior Province. The supracrusta rocks consist of mafic metavocanics and castic sediments to the north, and a compex package of fesic, intermediate, and mafic vocanics with intercaated chemica and/or castic roetasediments to the south. The bet has been intruded by severa arge, fesic to intermediate bathoiths and undergone extensive foding, ductie shearing, and ate britte fauting. God mineraization in the area is ocaized within regionay extensive, steepy dipping structures. These deformation zones host the majority of god occurences and a of the producing god mines in the bet. God mineraization is associated with pyrite, arsenopyrite, gaena, chacopyrite, and minor pyrrhotite in shear zone-hosted quartz veins and suphide-rich schists.

Economic Geoogy God was discovered in the Mishibishu Lake Greenstone Bet in the ate 1890's, however during the past few years, the area has been the focus of extensive god exporation and the deveopment of a new producing mine (Muscocho/Windarra's Magnacon Mine). In addition, the bet now hosts two underground exporation programs (Eage River and the Mishi deposit) and a mutitude of surface exporation projects which have estabished it as one of the most active exporation areas in Canada. Very itte can be said of the god potentia of the Pipe River property due to the imited geoogica knowedge. No geochemica or structura information is avaiabe for anaysis. Numerous magnetic anomaies occur on the caims probaby indicative of diabase dykes or sis.. Property Evauation The Pipe River property is unexpored and is beieved to be underain entirey by granite. Because it is apparent that structure is of paramount importance in ocaizing god mineraization throughout the bet, and that airborne surveying suggests a ack of structura compexity on the property it is considered to be of ow priority. Nonetheess additiona examination of the caims is necceasary to achieve a better understanding of its true potentia. RECOMMENDATIONS It is recommended that a contro grid be estabished on the property with ines at 00 metre spacing, and that this grid be surveyed by magnetic and VLF eectromagnetic methods. If practica, depending on outcrop exposure, geoogica mapping, prospecting, and geochemica samping is aso recommended to achieve a better understanding of the property. The estimated budget for this proposed program is summarized in Appendix 1..
