2 FLLOW FAL EOOK F:R.O~E~T This book project will give you the opportunity to create a comfy reminder of a great book! Choose your favorite chapter book and create a "Pillow Pal" according to the following directions. Find an old (or new!) child sized T -shirt (preferably white) Using permanent markers, fabric paint, or paint pens, decorate your T-shirt to illustrate various story elements. (Hint: Place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to make it easier to draw on and to keep the colors from bleeding through. Decorate the T-shirt as follows: (See illustration at the top.) / Write your name on the front, around the neck / Write the title and author on the front and center ofthe shirt / Draw a picture of a main character on each sleeve. Use front and back sleeves if your book has a lot of main characters. / Choose two important events from the book. llustrate one on the front and one on the back of the shirt. Write a complete sentence to describe each event.
3 :J>R:E~TONS FOR STVFFNG AN:J> ~LOSNG YOVR :PLLOW :PAL. Stuff the T-shirt with fiberfill (Clean rags, old socks or newspaper may be substituted, but are less comfortable!) f you have another idea for stuffing, please feel free to use it! Seal the neck, arms, and bottom of the T -shirt. Sewing the edges closed (either by hand stitching or machine) is the best option, but if sewing is not for you, try one of these options. Glue gun Fabric or craft glue ron on tape Velcro
