2 Class Character Analysis Character Types There are different types of characters in fiction. First, a character can either be round or flat. A round character has many dimensions and shows varied and sometimes even contradictory traits. A flat character, on the other hand, shows only one personality trait throughout the selection. Second, a character can be either static, staying the same throughout the piece, or dynamic, showing great change or growth throughout a particular piece. Characters can be round and dynamic, round and static, flat and dynamic, or flat and static. Choose two characters that interest you in The Crucible. One should be round OR flat and the other should be static OR dynamic. Complete the appropriate posters for those characters. Then, in a well-developed paragraph analyze one of them. Write your paragraph below. A character analysis should contain a critique of the character s personality, motives, and actions. It should include personal opinions that are backed up from plenty of evidence from the text. It should begin with a strong topic sentence that states an opinion, continue with textual evidence to support the opinion, and end with closure.

8 Class Theme Timeline Themes Power Reputation Create a timeline of events as they relate to one of the above themes. Your timeline should be completed on a standard-size poster board, and it should be colorful and creative. It should indicate plot events that contribute to developing the theme in the order that they occur. The timeline should be colorful and creative.
