This is the month of our annual Resident and Family Thanksgiving Dinner. We look forward to celebrating with you. You will be receiving an invitation in the mail. Please be sure to wash your hands often to prevent the spread of germs. If you are under the weather we ask you refrain from visiting until you are feeling better. The safety and health of our residents is of upmost importance. As the holidays approach, take time to thank your loved ones and reflect on the wonderful blessings you have. I am so thankful for my wonderful caring staff, beautiful and loving residents, great friends and family. Care Flowers are a way of identifying needs of the Resident in a positive manner, which will engage the care partner, nurse, family member or friend to value what the Resident is trying to tell them by their action or interactions. 3 Highlights of the Month Highlights of the Month November 4 Daylight Savings Time Ends Yes it s that time of year again! It is time to turn your clocks back, and gain an extra hour of sleep. So don t forget on Nov 3, to turn those clocks back before you go to bed. Do you know who first Introduced Daylight Savings time and in what year? President Woodrow Wilson signed it into law to support the war effort during World War I in November 9 Veterans Program Northmont ROTC will be here to put on a display for us as they gear up for competition season to dazzle our residents with a performance. Join us for a Veterans Program to recognize & honor our Veterans for their bravery and service by Vitas. November 9 Connection s Support Group On Friday November 9, at join our Connections Support Group. This month we will be discussing Laughter Therapy. Please RSVP by Tuesday November 6, at the front desk or call (937) November 15 Annual Thanksgiving Family Dinner We will be hosting our SH traditional home cooked Thanksgiving Dinner. We will have two seating s for you to choose from. The first seating is at 1 the second seating is at 4:30. Please make sure you send in your RSVP by Nov 7. They are always happy to see she brings so much happiness and joy to our residents. It s such a pleasure to see their smiles. We will also have our favorite alpaca, Daffodil in to see us on November 7th at. Bountiful Baking For the month of November we will be making Peach Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie Dip and Hot apple Cider. November Music Therapy Tim comes the first Monday of every month to do music therapy with our residents. Tim does Name That Tune, which is one of our resident s favorite things. Plus singing the old songs they listened to in their younger days. Spring Cottage Laughter Therapy We are very excited to add Laughter Therapy to our program. Sometimes Laughter is the Best Medicine. Laughter is known to be a powerful antidote to stress. However, the benefits of laughter extend far beyond making you feel happier in the moment.
