1 THE PUNJAB SCHOOL ADMISSION TO CLASS VII This is for the information of the parents that a few vacancies for admission to the Class arise occasionally. Admissions to these vacancies are finalized on the basis of results of written examination in the subjects of English, Urdu, Mathematics and Science a subsequent interview. An oral test for Quran is conducted separately. These are purely merit-based admissions. A list of successful candidates is displayed on the notice boards in their respective wings. The parents have to collect information sheets, books list, syllabi etc along with the prescribed Admission Form duly signed by the wing head. These forms along with the dues should be submitted in the Fee Section. Only after the observance of the above-mentioned formalities, a student correctly attired in prescribed School Uniform and possessing the relevant books and stationary, is eligible to sit in the class. Syllabi for the written examination are as follows: ENGLISH: Essays/Composition of about 100 words: *Studies eg (The Use of Library, The Need of Computer in Our Society), *Sports eg (A Cricket Match, Sports and Games), *Likes/Dislikes eg (My Favourite Book, My Favourite Teacher, The Subject which I dislike the most, Misuses of Internet), * Incidents eg (A Road Accident, House on Fire), *Special Occasions eg (A Birthday Party, Eid-ul-Fitr), *A Visit to Historical Place eg (A Visit to a Museum, A Visit to Shahi Mosque), *Personalities eg (Allama Iqbal, Holy Prophet (PBUH)) etc. Applications: eg (To Principal, to different departments i.e. telephone, council to draw attention towards social issues/cleanliness/provision of park, for sick leave, for concession in fee) etc. Letters: eg (To parents, friends, brother/sister, relatives about summer vacation telling about your success in examination, thanking for the gift) etc. Stories based on famous proverbs or sayings: eg (Honesty is the best policy, God helps those who help themselves) etc. Sentence making of the given words and phrases, Meanings of words in English: Grammar: Use of Verbs, Adverbs, Articles, Prepositions, Singular/Plural, Masculine/Feminine, Nouns/Pronouns. Fill in the blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms and Translation from Urdu to English. MATHEMATICS: Ch #: 1 to 5, 11, 14, 16.
