Usually the fewer the number of people who have a stamp in their collections, the more valuable that stamp is. Some rich people collect works of art. They often pay millions of dollars for a painting by a famous artist. Paintings usually become more valuable as time passes, so the rich buy them hoping to sell them at a later date for more than they had paid. There are many interesting things all around us that are useful to collect. Some people, for example, collect menus from restaurants, or even bus tickets. Such collections may not be worth a lot of money, but they will be very valuable to historians in the future. The best way to start a collection is to choose something we are interested in.
