Grade 2 Unit 3: Fables & Folktales 3.2 Fables have special characteristics, like: one to three characters, usually animals with human characteristics, short stories, and teach a moral or lesson. RL.2.3 Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges. RL.2.4 Describe how words and phrases (e.g. regular beats, alliteration, rhymes, repeated lines) supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem or song Readers understand what it means to compare and contrast.
