Then answer the questions that follow. (1) One day while I was walking home from a friend s house, I herd a strange sound. (2) It sounded like it was coming from the bushes in Mrs. Yoon s yard. (3) I wanted to turn around and run because we had been telling scary stories at a slumber party last night. (4) I told myself to be brave and look under the bush. (5) I walked slowly toward the bush. (6) When I was only two feet away from the bush, the bush started moving, and the strange noise got louder and louder. (7) It sounded like a woman screaming. (8) I heard a woman scream once. (9) I slow reached toward the bush to push the lower limbs apart, so I could see what was making the horrible noise. (10) When I pushed the branches apart. (11) I saw a rainbow of colors. (12) When I looked closer, I saw that the bright colors were feathers. (13) The bird screeched and screamed when it saw me. (14) Then it spread out it s feathers in a large colorful fan. (15) It was a peacock. (16) Mrs. Yoon came running out of his house. (17) She was happy to see the peacock. (18) It was a pet that had gotten out of its cage in the backyard. (19) I told Mrs. Yoon that I had never seen no peacock before now.
