1 Dear Student, All of us at the Joffrey Ballet School are so pleased that you will be joining us for the Musical Theater Broadway intensive. You are going to be a part of the long and rich dance history of the Joffrey Ballet School. This is a unique time at the school as we forge new territory as the inaugural class of the Musical Theater Broadway program at JBS. Our goal is to educate a true triple threat by introducing and strengthening the entire musical theater skill set - dance, acting and singing. We expect 100% of your efforts, attention, and energy every day. Be ready to work hard and dig deep. Keeping with the long musical theater tradition, we will be having a hootenanny once a week. A hootenanny is when a group of people, usually a cast and crew of a production, comes together to put on a variety show for one another. This will be another time for you to share your special talents. We encourage you to create original skits and other content in this creative space as you continue to explore and share your gifts with your peers. At various times there will be a small production crew documenting the program in its first year. We want you to represent JBS and yourself in the best possible way. We expect you to be camera ready every day and present yourself in a professional and tidy manner. We are depending on you to help us grow our new JBS musical theater family. We encourage you to use your social media outlets to share with the world what we are doing. #JBSMusicalTheater #CameraReady As we get closer to what feels like opening night of this program I am filled with excitement for what we are all going to create. It would not be complete without you and what you are about to contribute. We are looking forward to this incredible opportunity to guide and assist you in your journey to see your name in lights on Broadway. Orientation will be held on Monday morning at 9:00AM at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center. Always, Matthew Prescott

Based on the imaginative Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked takes a fantasy journey through the unseen side of Oz, sharing a tale of unexpected friendship and love. A disfigured musical genius haunts the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera and exerts strange control over a lovely young soprano. Based on "Le Fantome de L'Opera" by Gaston Leroux. Score includes: "Music of the Night," "Angel of Music," "Think of Me" and the title song. Winner of 50 international awards, including the Tony Award, and one of the biggest hits on Broadway, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Extra Activities Description The beloved story of the beautiful Princess Aurora, the evil sorceress Carabosse, and the awakening kiss of a handsome prince is certain to cast a spell on your heart and imagination in an all- new production, newly staged by Alexei Ratmansky and inspired by León Bakst s historic designs for Diaghilev s Ballets Russes. Hold onto your hats because for 30 fun- filled minutes the Beast leaves all others in its wake as the Captain takes this custom- built 70- foot offshore racing powerboat up to 45 mph on a ride down to the Statue of Liberty. The romantic story of a young American soldier (played by New York City Ballet's Robert Fairchild), a beautiful French girl and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war, is the stuff of Broadway dreams.

9 Lincoln Center Guided Tour 6/20/15 Saturday 2:00pm $35.00 ABT: Romeo and Juliet 6/20/15 Saturday 8:00pm $50.00 ABT: Swan Lake 6/25/15 Thursday 7:30pm $55.00 The Royal Ballet 6/27/15 Saturday 2:00pm $65.00 Whether you re just visiting New York City and want a glimpse of performing arts history, or you re a Lincoln Center regular who wants to see your favorite venues from a new perspective, a guided tour will bring you closer to the world s premier performing arts center. Tours typically visit up to 3 of our venues where a spectacular range of artists have performed, including Luciano Pavarotti, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Leonard Bernstein, and Renée Fleming. These venues are also home to our resident organizations, including the New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center Theater, Chamber Music Society and more. Principal Dancer JULIE KENT offers her final ABT appearance in Kenneth MacMillan's masterful interpretation of Shakespeare's enduring romantic tragedy has become one of ABT's signature productions. Against a sumptuous setting in Renaissance Italy, MacMillan weaves a dance tapestry rich in character nuance and sensuality, and Sergei Prokofiev's instantly recognizable music underscores the lyric beauty and passion of this beloved ballet's star- crossed lovers. Of all the great classics performed by ABT today, Swan Lake remains the quintessential ballet, the one that defines the standards of the Company, tests its dancers and ennobles the spirit of the audience. This romantic fable of ill- fated passion, dreamlike transformation and ultimate forgiveness is set to Tchaikovsky s glorious score. With breathtaking choreography and visually magnificent sets evoking a Renaissance court, the fabled lake of the swans rises into view, inspiring awe for generations to come. The program will include: Infra, choreography by Wayne McGregor and music by Max Richter. The Age of Anxiety, choreography by Liam Scarlett and music by Leonard Bernstein. Divertissements, highlights from the company s repertory, including the central pas de deux from Royal Ballet Artistic Associate Christopher Wheeldon s award winning Aeternum.
