2 WHO ARE WE WHAT IS NHP PUBLISHING? In early 2013, the New Heroes & Pioneers publishing house based in Malmö, Sweden was little more than the kernel of an idea in our minds. Our plan was to develop and publish a range of coffee table books containing a smart, interesting and eclectic mixture of art, culture and fashion. What made this concept unique, was that we were, right from the beginning, dedicated to being a vehicle for discovering and promoting new and unknown artists whose singular styles and perspectives make them stand out. The concepts of making human connections and giving back were woven into the fabric of the corporate culture and have become a clear and conscious part of every project since the company s inception. 3 OUR PHILOSOPHY WHAT WE BELIEVE IN We believe that culture can be found everywhere. In searching for new and extraordinary culture, we are challenging the Catch-22 stating that you have to be famous to be published. We know that there are amazing, unknown talents out there, and we make it our mission to discover them and give them the chance to show their work. We find heroes and pioneers of culture and together we create extraordinary coffee table books. We believe that there is a lot of good to be done in the world. Being a business is not only about making profit but doing something good with that profit. And because we believe that culture should be accessible to everyone, we are creating and publishing carefully curated material every day for our online magazine. New Cavendish Street opened in 2011 and Dorset Street opened in The face behind the business is Miisa Mink, who comes from a successful career in branding and design but is also a passionate baker. In 2008 she left the corporate life and became a partner in Nordic Bakery. AND MILLA KOIVISTO Milla Koivisto is a photographer, writer, filmmaker and artist with a focus on environmental issues. Her interests lies in the natural world and our connections and relationship with it, with a particular interest in the remote parts of our planet.
