MONTAGE NEW FEATURES WITH FIRMWARE 1.50 The sum of Winter & NAMM always offers a certain tension: Awaiting exciting news in the dawn of the new year. For instance, last year, Yamaha introduced its new Synthesizer flagship MONTAGE to the world. And now, almost exactly one year later, a quite large firmware update is available. As I'm just starting to write this article (it's just a few days to Christmas), I remember past times: My first synthesizer was a Korg Poly 61. The choice was not difficult at the time, it simply was the only one I could afford. Some years after its introduction there was an "Update" available for the Poly 61. However, that did not come from the manufacturer, but from a third party: For a few hundred Deutsche Mark I had a MIDI interface retrofit. A few years later I owned a Yamaha DX7 II FD. For this too, an extension (Gray Matter E!) was offered, which did cost around 500 DM. I installed it all by myself to save money. But why do I mention this? Because we are now living in a completely different time. It certainly doesn't take long (maybe it is already, I don't know) and every toaster is equipped with a W-LAN module and its own IP address, so that firmware updates can be installed automatically. For a complex synthesizer such as MONTAGE, updates - and thus extensions of the functions - are delivered free of charge! From my experience, I don't feel this as a matter of course. This type of product maintenance contributes considerably to the value of the product and, in my opinion, should get some appreciation. What's your opinion? But now back to the topic and all the new features the firmware update has to offer. NEW PERFORMANCES The memory structure of MONTAGE allows Yamaha, among other things, to add new Preset Performances with an update or to modify existing ones. With version 1.50, 52 new Performances were added. The list on the next page gives an overview. YAMAHA.COM 3

Some of them also use the new Effects, which are described in more detail in the next paragraph. I made a video playing one of my personal favourites of the new Performances: NEW EFFECTS A total of five new Effects are available with the update. At the request of many users - already at MOTIF times - a second Rotary Effect was added. This was extended by parameters for the specific control of the Rotor Speeds, especially when changing the Speed. Three new Compression Effects have also been implemented. The Compressor Types are named "Uni Compression Up", "Uni Compression Down", and "Parallel Compression". It is necessary to deal with them more intensively than it was possible for me in the brevity of time. I tried it for a running drum Arpeggio, where I have toggled between the classical "VCM Compressor 376" and the "Parallel Compression". My impression is that "Parallel Compression" supports the assertiveness, but is less compressed, more natural. YAMAHA.COM 4

in the [HOME] screen, simply press [ENTER] to call the corresponding "switch" in the display. Favorites can be selected from Preset, User as well as Library Performances. They are stored with the User File. It is interesting that the Category Search can be used in a normal way, when the "Favorite" Bank is selected. Due to this it possible to work really fast. The "natural" attribute also fits for the new "Presence" Effect, which adds more presence to the signal (as its name suggests...). Overall, the new Effects round off the already rich range of Effects. USER FAVORITES With version 1.50 it is now possible - again - to add a Favorite marker to Performances. A Performance marked in this way is given a yellow star, which is visible both in the Category Search page and in the name of the Performance. NEW PERSPECTIVES There are now different display layouts for the current Performance in the [HOME] screen. As before, a single press on the [PERFORMANCE (HOME)] button will take you back to the Performance Play page from virtually any Edit menu. If you press this button a second time or the new "View" button next to the name of the Performance, the screen is split. On the left side there are four Parts in the Mix overview. On the right, the Keyboard Range of the Parts 1-8 is shown. After their "appointment", these Favorites fit very comfortably into their own Bank for the Category Search function. From this screen there are several ways to switch to additional Views. In the "Range" area, both the Key and Velocity Ranges can be displayed. If you tap onto the Velocity Range, its values for the Parts are displayed on the right and the familiar "Keyboard" button on the lefthand side of the screen allows the direct input of a value by playing a key on the keyboard. A Performance can be marked as a Favorite directly from within the Category Search page. For a currently selected Performance YAMAHA.COM 5

If you select a Part in the "Type / Name" area, you get direct access to the switches and levels of the Elements of an AWM2 Part or the Operators of an FM-X Part. As before, the Faders control the level of the Elements / Operators in the selected Part. For Drum Parts, the most important Drum Key levels can be changed. change a strong orange coloured Slot is clearly better recognisable. For the Live Set and the Category Search page, you can also change the size of the font to achieve better readability. For FM-X-Parts, there is also direct access to the Algorithm and the Feedback of the corresponding Operator. This should clearly support the Quick Edit workflow of the FM-X engine. COPY/PASTE When copying one Part from another into the currently edited Performance, you can now choose whether the Mixing Parameters should be copied or not. This avoids re-programming in certain situations. COLOURFUL LIVE SET The active Slot of a Live Set has been represented by a white frame. Not only in the mirrored headlights with this ADVANCED CONTROLLER ROUTING The Controller Matrix of MONTAGE was already very powerful in the first OS version. With this update to version 1.50, the flexibility of the routing is once again significantly increased. So far there was a fixed connection between the Super Knob and the Assignable Knobs. It was only possible to limit or invert the value range and thus influence the control ratio. But now "Super Knob Link" is the new "secret weapon". YAMAHA.COM 6

THE ALL FILE IS BACK(UP) AGAIN! This allows you to choose whether or not there is a connection between the Super Knob and an Assignable Knob. Initially this might not sound so spectacular. But: This feature makes it possible to "promote" practically every one of the Assignable Knobs to be an additional self-sufficient Super Knob. Once again, we have: Eight Common Assignable Knobs > 16 Destinations (Common or A/D Part parameters or Part Assignable Knobs) Eight Assignable Knobs per Part > 16 Destinations (Part Parameters) In sum, these are 256 Destinations (!) in an 8-Part Performance. The parameters of all active Parts can be controlled from each individual Common Assignable Knob via the Part Assignable Knobs. "Super Knob Link" determines which Common Assignable Knobs of the Super Knob (and possibly the FC7) are jointly controlled and which are not. On top of the update wish list for features was the very popular ALL file, which is well known from the MOTIF series and which is used to save and load the entire memory content of the instrument. Guess what: That wish is granted! The "BackupFile" has been added to the [UTILITY] > "Contents" area. Thus, the entire memory content of MONTAGE can now be stored or loaded. A Backup File contains: User Performances User Waveforms User Arpeggios User Live Sets Songs Installed Libraries including their Library Waveforms System Settings ENHANCED PART EDIT VIEW A simple example: Let's say you want to morph Parts (crossfade their volume) with the Super Knob. For this, one Common Assignable Knob is sufficient, since the volume can be influenced in the respective Part with the aid of In the Part Edit screen you can now directly select the Part at the bottom left. This makes it easy to work directly from the touch screen without having to use the buttons on the control panel. suitable Curves. If "Super Knob Link" were deactivated for the Assignable Knobs , they could control up to 15 parameters simultaneously in different Parts. For example, Cutoff, Resonance, and Element Level for Part 1, Insert Effect "Dry/Wet" for Part 2, various Amp Envelope parameters for Part 3... etc. I would like to summarise this feature with the exclamation "That will do the trick!" YAMAHA.COM 7

CHANGE OF SCENES So far a SysEx command was necessary for the remotecontrolled change of Scenes. As with the Super Knob, this is now possible with a Control command, which makes handling much easier. MISCELLANEOUS There are some more features and improvements. However, in order to leave air for other topics in this Music Production Guide, I better come to an end. My urgent recommendation at this point is: Download and install the new OS! Have fun! 9 MONTAGE CONTROLLER ROUTING & SUPER KNOB TUTORIAL PART 3 This third part at the end of the series is only a small addition. It will be more theoretical this time. In the first two parts a lot of "follow these steps" instructions were included. Meanwhile, I assume that these are no longer necessary. Certainly, you are now able to analyse some sample Performances accordingly and let the findings flow into your own work. This tutorial series on Controller Routing and the Super Knob was started in the Music Production Guide This third part completes the small series. In particular, general information on the Motion Control Synthesis Engine and the general Controller Routing are not repeated here. Please download any missing Music Production Guides from the Internet, if necessary. You can find older editions very quickly using the Music Production Guide History: You can download Tutorial Performances with reference to the respective sections of this tutorial. If you happen to lose the thread, you don't have to start from scratch. Instead, you can simply load the respective Performance YAMAHA.COM 9

of the current section and continue to work with it. These Tutorial Performances for MONTAGE can be requested by - details about the procedure can be found at the end of this article. SUPER KNOB ADVANCED There is one aspect I have deliberately left out up until now. The Common Assignable Knobs can be restricted or even inverted in their value ranges. You can not find this option in Edit Mode, but from the Performance (Home) screen: Motion Control > Super Knob It is also possible to invert the direction of action. This can be used to set an Assignable Knob (from or also restricted) to work in reverse mode. On this screen you can also set the start value and the LED pattern for the Super Knob. Perhaps one or more questions came to your mind in the course of the last two parts of this workshop. For example: When do I work with one Common Assignable Knob and route it to multiple Part Assignable Knobs in parallel? When is it useful to establish a single routing from the Common Assignable Knob to the Part Assignable Knob? The questions are perhaps already answered in part with the introduction. In addition, however, I would like to add some exemplary explanations. You recall the 18 different Curve Types. So far, in the practical examples we have worked with the Curve Types "Standard" and "Treshold", because they corresponded to the requirements. Many Curves have a predetermined slope or direction of action. Here are two examples: In the upper fields (green) you can set the value for leftmost position of the Knobs, in the lower row (blue) the value for the right-most position. This scales the entire range of action of the Super Knob to the defined value range of the respective Assignable Knobs. Assuming that you have set a range of , then the Assignable Knob is set to 40 when the Super Knob is in its zero position. And if the Super Knob is at its maximum value of 127, the Assignable Knob is set to 90. This would allow a certain section of a Curve Type to be controlled very finely. Let's say you want to turn "Tilt Sine" - to start the parameter with a high value and then drop low. In this case, use a separate Common Assignable Knob, invert its direction of action, and route it only to that Curve. CURVY When looking at some Curves, perhaps at the first moment it is not really possible to understand their intended use. In parallel to this tutorial series, Peter Krischker explains the Motion Sequences. For example, if we look at the Curve Type "Sequence", it can be seen that with this Curve alone a Mini Motion Sequence can be realised. YAMAHA.COM 10

The Tutorial Performance "Super K. Tutorial 3c" is programmed to represent this status. Cutoff and Resonance are selected as Destinations. Move the Super Knob very slowly to observe the effect. The following example shows a seamless crossfade of five pad sounds. The following Curve Types are used: You can achieve the different Drawbar settings by slowly moving through the Super Knob range. I have additionally stored certain positions in the eight Scenes, to have them quickly accessible. In the variant "All 9 Bars! * SKT.3b" I went a step further and have set the Speed control of the Rotary Speakers in certain positions of the Super Knob to "Fast" - using the Curve Type "FM". With the eight Scenes you can access different Drawbar settings and change the Rotary Speed. But now I would like to conclude the area of Curve Types. SUPER KNOB QUICK CHANGES In connection with the Super Knob, the buttons [1] and [2] Schematically their combined effect is roughly as shown in this figure: beforehand. have not yet been mentioned under the heading "KNOB POSITION". These can be used as a quick link to limit the Super Knob's range of action - without having to go to a menu or Edit screen Since the function does not necessarily explain itself, (The figure is not proportionate.) The Performance "Super K. Pad * SKT3d" is the samplefree version of a Performance from the MONTAGE soundset "Phat Analog II" by EASY SOUNDS. I had programmed this Performance for the MONTAGE version - of course in its original using the synthesizer User Waveforms - for this soundset. With kind permission of Peter Krischker the adapted version is included as an example in the tutorial files. For the last example from the Curve Types section, I have set myself the goal of creating different Drawbar settings of an organ Performance only with the Super Knob. The base for it is the Preset Performance "All 9 Bars!" which I stored under the name "* SKT.3a". For the realisation I used the following three Curve Types: "Resonance", "Tilt Sine", and "Sequence". These were only routed to the different Element Levels of Part 1. follow these steps: Select the Tutorial Performance Super K. Pad * SKT3d Turn the Super Knob from the far left to the far right, observing how the value under "Assign 1" changes from Set the Super Knob to a value of 30 Press [SHIFT] & [1] (under "KNOB POSITION") "Knob Value Stored" is shown briefly in the display, no other change is visible Turn the Super Knob all to the left - the value 30 remains Set the Super Knob to a value of 110 Press [SHIFT] & [2] (under "KNOB POSITION") Again, "Knob Value Stored" is shown briefly in the display Turn the Super Knob all to the right - the value 110 remains YAMAHA.COM 11

Of the originally five Parts, which were crossfaded with the Super Knob, only the middle three are now controlled. This function can be used temporarily, but the set values can also be saved with the Performance. For another example of these quick customisation options, I stored the Performance "All 9 Bars! * SKT.3b" with a reduced Super Knob value range as "All 9 Bars! * SKT.3x". Compare the two variants and find the differences. A goal of our articles in the Music Production Guide is to not lose sight of the practical orientation. I hope that I succeeded with this series. As always, we are looking forward to feedback and suggestions. Your Hans-Peter Henkel Pressing both the buttons [1] and [2] under "KNOB POSITION", which is referred to as "MOTION SEQ / MANUAL", is not directly related to this. The free workshop Tutorial Performances can be ordered by sending an with the keyword "MONTAGE Free" to: montage@easysounds.de For the sake of completeness, however, here's a brief explanation. The Super Knob can be automated with a Motion Sequence. Various Preset Performances make use of that. An example is "FM Landscapes". When you press the buttons [1] and [2] together, the Motion Sequence is disabled. Pressing them both again switches it back on. Thus, for such Performances, this is a fast possibility of manually controlling the Super Knob. This status can also be saved with the Performance. Immediately after registering, you will receive an from EASY SOUNDS containing the download link for the content. The Motion Sequence Tutorial Performances of this Music Production Guide as well as the FM-X Tutorial Performances of the MONTAGE FM-X Guide (Music Production Guide, issues to ) can be downloaded with the same access. The "MCSK_Tutorial" file contains the Tutorial Performances of all three parts. So you don't have to repeat the download for each part. THE END The end? There is no end to the combination and programming possibilities in connection with the Super Knob and the Curve Types. I have often summarised the work with MONTAGE as follows: The first approach is as easy as a relaxed look from the deck chair to the water surface. If you want to see something more, but do not really want to work (yet), try to snorkel. All those who are more interested in the game, make a dive and see much more than anybody else. Everything is allowed and has its right. With this tutorial series we have dived a bit into deep, but have not yet reached the maximum possible diving depth. It's up to you to decide how deep you want to go. YAMAHA.COM 12

MONTAGE MOTION SEQUENCER PART 3: USER CURVES This workshop series is dedicated to the Motion Sequencer Engine of MONTAGE. After we have dealt in detail with the use of the Preset Curves in the second part, we will show you how to program Motion Sequences with user-created User Curves. As already mentioned in the second part, the Preset Curves and User Curves discussed in this series are used by both the Control Assign and the Motion Sequencer. However, for the parameter assignments in the Control Assign, you will usually set other User Curves than for Motion Sequences. However, the basic operations are identical, so that this article can also be very helpful for the programming of User Curves for Control Assignments. In the examples, special Tutorial Performances are used. You can download them free of charge (see box at the end of this article). If you want to follow the examples yourself, you should therefore download the Tutorial Performance file and select the Performance that is indicated at the beginning of each example. By the way: The file also contains a selection of User Sequences and User Curves, which you can use as a reference or base for your own programming attempts. USER CURVE BASICS There are 32 storage locations for User Curves in MONTAGE. These can be used as an alternative to the Preset Curves for any Lanes and Motion Sequences of the current memory content. YAMAHA.COM 14

User Curves are independent of the Performances in which they are created or used. The existing User Curves can be used in any other Motion Sequence of any Lanes In addition, the Library Curves can be selected in the "Edit Sequence" display after tapping on "Pulse A" or "Pulse B" and selecting the Library folder. and Performances. As long as no own settings have been made in the User Curves, they appear in the default setting ("Default"): In the Library folder, only those Curves appear, that have been actually changed by the user, meaning they deviate from the default settings. Library Curves can not be edited. The "Edit User Curve" Any change to one of the 32 User Curves available is stored automatically without the need for an explicit store operation. Like Motion Sequences, User Curves are also saved within User Files together with the other User Data. It is not possible to load individual User Curves from an existing MONTAGE User File. Motion Sequences that contain User Curves only refer to the number of the User Curve. The User Curve itself is not stored in the Motion Sequence. So Motion Sequences with User Curves only work as planned, if the correct User Curves are actually present in the memory. When you use User Curves in multiple Motion Sequences, subsequent changes affect all Sequences that use these Curves. After tapping on the "Curve Name" field, individual names can be entered for the User Curves. If the current content of the User Memory is stored as a Library File, the stored User Curves are available as Library Curves after loading the Library. For Motion Sequences that contain original User Curves, the reference is automatically changed to the Library Curves. function does not appear for Library Curves. When a Library Sequence with Library Curve is loaded from a User Performance, the Curve's reference to the Library is preserved. The Motion Sequence is thus dependent on the Library. If a Library Performance that contains a Library Sequence with a Library Curve is transferred to the User Memory with the "Library Import" function, the Curve's reference to the Library is retained. However, this can be changed by assigning the original User Curve instead of the Library Curve to the Sequence, if available. Basically, it is very advantageous to start all edits of Motion Sequences and User Curves from a User File, and to use the User File as a "Master", even if the changes are made later. It is possible to save it as a Library File at any time. WHAT'S THE POINT OF USER CURVES? With the huge selection of Preset Curves including the variations available with Prm1 / Prm2, the first question that comes up, is: Why do you need User Curves at all? Is it even worth the trouble to create them yourself? YAMAHA.COM 15

You have to make this decision yourself. The examples of this article can, however, be a good decision-making aid. Because we will try to show with some ideas, which kind of User Curves could be interesting in addition to the Preset Curves. A basic consideration is that Curves with higher Unit Multiply values play longer and therefore can make more sense than shorter ones. With a Motion Sequence with 1/16 Steps and 100% Unit Multiply it may be difficult to distinguish comparable Preset Curves and new User Curves. The situation is different if you use a higher Unit Multiply setting of for instance 400% and design the User Curves as 1/4 notes. The Curve Sequences can then be clearly heard, an optimal adaptation of the Curve to an existing groove is possible in real time. For this reason, the Tutorial Performances used for the examples will also contain Drum Parts in addition to the Motion Sequence Parts. EXAMPLE 1 = USER CURVES START TUTORIAL PERFORMANCE 11 = USER CURVES START This FM-X Performance provides a good starting point for the programming of User Curves. Part 1 contains a metallic FM bass chord sound and is used for Motion Sequences. You can play bass notes with the left hand or chords with the right hand or both. Lane 1 is assigned to the Common Volume, Lane 2 is assigned to the Output of Operators 3, 5, and 7 (Modulators). In addition to Motion Sequence, you can modulate the FM-X Part with the Super Knob (Operator Output) and the Modulationwheel (Filter + Resonance). Select the display "Motion Seq - Lane". Lane 1 is set to "Cycle = 1", so you only hear the first Step with the edited Curve Click on "Edit Sequence" Click on the field Pulse A and select the Curve "Default" in the selection field that opens. Close the selection window Click on "Edit User Curve" in the lower right corner of the display. The "Edit - User Curve" page opens. Then the "Edit - User Curve" display will open. This Curve is renamed from "User 1" to "Default", it appears whenever a User Curve is selected, which is not yet edited. The curves "User 13" to "User 32" are identical You can now create completely new Curves with any changes to the values "Input" and "Output". The Input values represent the time axis. In the basic setting, all these time sections are the same. By changing the Input values, the bars in the graph are moved. The Output values control the intensity of the modulation. The higher the Output value is set, the more intense the modulation of the parameters that are assigned to the Lane in the Control Assign If you change the "CurveType" of the User Curve from "Linear" to "Step" in the upper right of the display, the Output value remains constant within the Steps. If it is set "Linear" the value gradually in- or declines towards the value of the subsequent Step Part 2 of the Performance contains a dance drum Arpeggio, so that the edited User Curves can be tested in real time with a drum accompaniment. Select the Tutorial Performance User Curves Start Press EDIT and select Part 1 YAMAHA.COM 16

If you are unsure how to create a User Curve that is suitable for the dance groove, try and select the Curves Nos. 2 to 10 in the upper left of the display. These are preprogrammed User Curves, which fit well into a "Four on the Floor" drum groove, because their emphasis lies on the offbeat. Curve No. 4 ("Offbeat 3") is a good example of a very striking emphasis on the offbeat - clearly visible exactly in the middle of the Curve. The last three available Input and Output values are not required for this Curve and are therefore pushed to the right with the Output value "0" (Input values 125, 126, 127) Select the Tutorial Performance "User Curves SQ" Press EDIT and select Part 1 Select the "Motion Seq - Lane" display. Lane 1 is set to "Cycle = 8", which is different to the previous example, because here it is not about the programming of individual Curves, but the creation of new Motion Sequences Click on "Edit Sequence". You will see a preset Motion Sequence with eight Steps, the last two of which are set to "B". The User Curves "Offbeat 3" (A) and "Offbeat 1" (B) are used If possible, don't change the pre-programmed Curves Nos. 1-12, as these are still required in their original state for the next examples. If you already want to program several Curves of your own, please use Curve Nos. 1 and 13 to 32, which are still in the default state. All changes made to User Curves are, as already stated, immediately saved irrevocably! If you leave the display "Edit - User Curve" with EXIT after editing, you are automatically forwarded to the Lane display. To return to editing the current Sequence, click Edit Sequence again EXAMPLE 2 = MOTION SEQUENCE WITH USER CURVES Experiment with this Motion Sequence by selecting different User Curves for Pulse A / B. You can change the settings without hesitation, since you can restore the original state at any time by re-selecting the Performance - as long as the changes have not been saved. Unlike User Curves, changes to User Sequences are not automatically saved immediately You can also use the possibility to load the preprogrammed User Sequences from the Tutorial File with the "Load Sequence" function. Load them into the current Performance in order to get suggestions for your own creations TUTORIAL PERFORMANCE 12 = USER CURVES SQ In the previous example, you had the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the User Curve display. Now it's about creating new Motion Sequences from the existing User Curves. Most of the Performance settings are the same as in the first example. Only a portion of the Motion Sequence parameters have been changed. YAMAHA.COM 17

EXAMPLE 3 = MOTION SEQUENCE SELECT EXAMPLE 4 = SLOW MOTION TUTORIAL PERFORMANCE 13 = EIGHT SINGLE STEP SEQ In this example, the sound settings of the previous two Performances are used again. Here you will see how up to eight different User Curves can be selected in real time with the MOTION SEQ SELECT buttons 1-8. Each of the eight Motion Sequences of a Lane contains only one Step to which one of the User Curves is assigned. This kind of programming makes it possible to intuitively use more than only two Curves (A and B) in Lanes. Select the Tutorial Performance "EightSingleStepSeq" First, stay in PLAY mode and play the Performance Press the MOTION SEQ SELECT buttons 1-8 one after the other to select the Motion Sequences with the eight different User Curves. With the drum groove running, try to choose the Curves musically. You can also change the drum Arpeggios using the ARP SELECT buttons Switch to the EDIT mode and select the "Motion Seq - Lane" display if you want to analyse this type of programming of the Motion Sequencer and maybe even start your own experiments in this direction. Obviously, many of the Preset Curves are also suitable for this purpose TUTORIAL PERFORMANCE 14 = MSEQ CHILL STEPS This example presents an FM-X Performance with a very slow, spherical synth groove in chill-out style (70 BPM). The following FM parameters are assigned to Lane 1: Operator Output Level - Modulators Operator Output Level Carriers Operator Spectral Skirt Operator Resonance Operator Frequency The Super Knob can control the Filter Cutoff Frequency and the Operator Frequency. In addition, Part 2 includes a dark AWM2 synth pad, the Cutoff Frequency of which can be increased with the Modulationwheel to make the sound more brilliant. Select the Tutorial Performance "MSEQ Chill Steps" Press EDIT and select Part 1 Select the "Motion Seq - Lane" display. Lane 1 is set to "Cycle = 4". Unit Multiply is set to 800%. Thus, a step - and therefore also the User Curve used - has a length of half a bar Click on "Edit Sequence". You will see a preset Motion Sequence with four steps that are alternately set to "A" and "B". The User Curves "Stepper" (A) and "Double Swell" (B) are used YAMAHA.COM 18

For "Pulse A" (top line), click on "Edit User Curve" As an alternative to the set Curve "Stepper", select the Curves No. 11 "Chill Steps 1" or 12 "Chill Steps 2" to get an impression of how the Sequence sounds with other Curves So far for that last example of this episode. The previous two parts of the Motion Sequence workshop should make it possible to understand even more complex programmings of the Motion Sequencer or even to execute it yourself. In the next issue, we will use some Preset Performances to describe how different sound parameters can be used with simple or complex Motion Sequences, including multiple Lanes. Peter Krischker Select a Curve which is still in the default setting (for example, Curve No. 13 "User 13") Select the Curve Type "Step" Program a new User Curve. If you use the "Input" values 0, 15, and 127, the Curve is set to the 1/8 grid. For a Step in a note length of 1/4, a value is skipped. If the Sequence is to begin with a quarter note, the first two Input values would be 0 and 31 A hint for programming: First set the Input values in a targeted and timely manner. Then use the sliders to intuitively adjust the Output values in real time to the running Sequence Exit the "Edit - User Curve" display with EXIT. You are forwarded to the Lane display. Click on "Edit Sequence". From here, you can save the modified User Sequence, if desired. However, this only affects the assignment The free Motion Sequence Tutorial Performances can be ordered by sending an with the keyword "MONTAGE Free" to: montage@easysounds.de Immediately after registering, you will receive an from EASY SOUNDS containing the download link for the content.
