PERFORMANCE NOTES X-noteheads: Notes marked with an x should be soken, rather than sung. Feathered Beams (bars 14-16): An increase in temo leading u to the minim in bar 16. The amount o notes to be sung is not imortant nor should the grou strive to erorm them in rhythmic unis. Ad libitum: The arts are all marked without noteheads. Each individual should be imrovising roughly around what is written, rather than striving to stay with their grou. Things which are to be taken into account, however are: Rhythm - the tulets should be adhered to i at all ossible, or i not, they should be estimated; Pitch - the seciic itch is unimortant, but it is desirable to use heavy chromaticism and generally movement to small intervals such as anything less than a minor third. Directi - Perormers are asked to roughly ollow the ctour o the beams in this secti. It is imortant to cstantly change directi within the beams too. The changes should be ket to a minimum o every our notes or so. Range - the range in any given beat is rarely greater than a erect ourth. This interval is a guideline rather than the seciic o a rule.
