For the thirteenth times and with more than 19 million spectators since its creation, Croisements highlights all areas of culture. Visual arts, theater and dance, classical and contemporary music, cinema and literature: sixty-eight programs will be presented in 30 cities in China. This year, Chinese personalities from culture s world, support and sponsor the Croisements festival. The actress Zhang Yuqi, the composer Tan Dun and the writer Liu Zhenyun will be the three protagonists engaged to celebrate the French creation and the French- Chinese artistic «crossroads». The illustrious urban aphorism «it is forbidden to forbid!» will revives this utopian movement that liberated the speech and the imagination of the French people. The exhibition, Art is You! designed by Eric de Chassey and embellished with films and lectures will return to this movement that has inspired new ideas and animate new sensibilities. Spotlight on contemporary art This year, Croisements put the spotlight on contemporary art. At the Shanghai Power Station of Art (PSA), the Fondation Cartier pour l art contemporain will present the exhibition A Beautiful Elsewhere, a collection of 100 emblematic works of the international art scene, including names such as Jean-Michel Alberola, Romain Trouble, Takeshi Photographie de Philippe Gras La ve ritable histoire de Ah Q, de Lu Xun, mis en scène par Michel Didym Goodwill ambassadors for this year Zhang Yuqi A former student of the Shanghai Conservatory in the Chinese Traditional Opera section, this famous actress has become known for her role in CJ7, which launched her film and media career. Boltanski s questioning of the meaning of life is centred on the twentieth century s great tragedies of mass extermination and the remnants of the disappeared: their memory and their remains. He ceaselessly questions the injustice rained upon the victims of man s destructive impulses. This approach and its profound enquiry is nevertheless without pathos.
