ABOUT THE ARTISTS John Heginbotham director, originally from Anchorage, AK, graduated from The Juilliard School (BFA in dance, 1993). He was a member of the Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) from , and founded his own company, Dance Heginbotham (DH), in DH has been presented nationally by Baryshnikov Arts Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Carolina Performing Arts, Jacob s Pillow Dance Festival, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, ODC Theater and Off the Edge Festival/Rialto Center for the Arts, among others; and internationally by the Right Now Music Festival (Seoul, South Korea). DH was recently selected as one of three companies to participate in the 2015/16 season of Dance- Motion USA, a program of the US Department of State, produced by BAM; DH will perform and engage with communities in Indonesia, Laos and the Philippines. In addition to his work with DH, Heginbotham has created work for Atlanta Ballet, Cork Opera House, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Works & Process at the Guggenheim (Peter and the Wolf, directed by Isaac Mizrahi). Heginbotham is the recipient of the 2014 Jacob s Pillow Dance Award. He is on faculty at Princeton University and is a founding teacher of Dance for PD, an ongoing collaboration between MMDG and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group. This is his third year as a director of the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble. Go Big Green! Rebecca Stenn director, dancer, choreographer, educator and writer, founded Rebecca Stenn Company in The company has since performed to critical acclaim and sold-out houses in over fifty cities and internationally including such venues as The Copenhagen Festival, The Edinburgh Festival, The Joyce Theater, The Kitchen, Danspace Project St. Marks Church, Dance Theater Workshop, Joyce SoHo, Symphony Space, Dance New Amsterdam, La MaMa ETC and Jacob s Pillow Dance Festival, among many others. The company has received support from the National Endowment for the

4 ABOUT THE ARTISTS CONTINUED Arts, The New York State Council for the Arts, The Joyce Theater Foundation, American Music Center and the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, and has been acclaimed in The New York Times, Dance Magazine, Backstage, The New Yorker and other publications. Recent performances included a return to the Edinburgh Festival, The Joyce Theater Family Matinee series, and solo performances at the Rubin Museum with musicians Fred Hersch and Dave Eggar. As a principal dancer with Momix Dance Theater from 1989 to 1996, Stenn performed in over thirty countries and throughout the US and appeared as a featured performer in films for Italian, Spanish and French television. Also with Momix, Stenn assisted in the choreography of and performed as a principal dancer in Lina Wertmuller s production of Carmen at the Munich Stats Opera; was a featured performer in the first ever 3D Imax film, Imagine; and assisted in the choreography of the Emmy Awardwinning PBS Special, Pictures at and Exhibition. Stenn is a founding member of Pilobolus Too with whom she toured throughout the world from 1996 to 2002, creating and performing numerous works for the repertoire and a piece for the Radio City Rockettes. Stenn has been has been a contributing editor at Dance Magazine and The Dance Insider. She has been the choreographer for the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts and with them has choreographed numerous performances presented at the Kennedy Center. Stenn is currently on faculty at The New School and Princeton University. She has enjoyed artistin-residencies at Barnard College, Manhattanville College, Stockton College, Montclair State University (New Works Awards winner) University of Wisconsin (winner of the Alumni Award) and Keene State College, among others. Stenn is currently creating a new evening-length work produced by Vanderbilt Republic, to be premiered at the Gowanus Loft, June She holds a BFA from The Juilliard School and MFA from The University of Wisconsin. Philip Montana GSM student choreographer received his BFA from the University of Florida in dance performance and his MFA in dance from NYU s Tisch School of the Arts. He has danced professionally for Tatiana Bagonova, Michael Foley, Shapiro & Smith Dance, Shen Wei Dance Arts, Liz Gerring Dance Company, Adele Myers and Dancers, Christopher Williams and Mark Dendy. His own company, PM Dance Co, has been presented at New York University, WAX, Pier 63, Dance Theater Workshop, Galapagos Art Space, Red Bean Studios, The Dance Complex, Holy Cross Academy and Salem State University. He recently served as resident choreographer for Pioneers Go East Co. and La MaMa ETC. In addition to choreographing, he has taught at Dance New Amsterdam, New York University, Connecticut College, Green Street Studios, Salem State University and Boston Conservatory. He is currently in his first year at Geisel School of Medicine. William Ghezzi guitar has performed extensively with orchestras, chamber ensembles, choruses, dance companies, in theater and opera, and for films, radio and television. He has appeared with the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, the Harry Partch Ensemble, the Philadelphia Guitar Ensemble and in many other chamber music settings. He has commissioned numerous compositions for himself, the Newman/Ghezzi Guitar Duo, the Baxter/Ghezzi Flute & Guitar Duo and the Philadelphia Guitar Ensemble, including works by Robert Maggio, Laurie MacGregor, Kile Smith, Robert Capanna and Jan Krzywicki. In 2013 he premiered The

5 ABOUT THE ARTISTS CONTINUED Great Valley No. 7 for solo guitar, part of a series of pieces composed by Paul A. Epstein, inspired by the paintings La Grande Vallée by the abstract expressionist painter Joan Mitchell, and dedicated to the memory of Ghezzi s teacher, Peter Segal. Ghezzi has been on the music faculties of Temple University, Chestnut Hill College and Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. Currently he is digital production and metadata librarian at the Dartmouth College Library. Ghezzi can be heard on Pandora, Internet Radio and SoundCloud. His videos can be seen on YouTube and Vimeo. Visit his website at Michael Connerney GSM pianist received his BA from Boston University in psychology and biology with a specialization in neurobiology, with a minor in music. He later received his MS in medical sciences from Boston University School of Medicine. Connerney has nearly two decades of experience as a pianist, and has previously performed at weddings, in concerts as both solo pianist and accompanist, and in other ceremonies. He enjoys teaching and performing piano in his spare time, and is now studying as a first-year medical student at Geisel School of Medicine. Macy Sullivan rehearsal director, originally from Camas, WA, is a NYC-based dancer, collaborator and teaching artist. She currently dances for Dance Heginbotham and The Chase Brock Experience and is on the creative team for Keen Teens Festival Sullivan s work has been performed at The Juilliard School, Judson Memorial Church, The 92nd Street Y and Jennifer Muller/The Works HATCH. Sullivan has additionally performed work by Alexander Ekman, Mark Morris, Ohad Naharin, Merce Cunningham, George Balanchine, August Bournonville and Christopher Stowell. As a teaching artist, she has worked with the NYC Department of Education, Lincoln Center Education, Cayman Arts Festival, and Artists Striving to End Poverty. She holds a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School (Martha Hill Prize, John Erskine Prize, Choreographic Honors).
