These traits are the correct and accurate use of one s native language, refined and gentle manners, the power and habit of reflection, the power of growth, and efficiency. II. The first paragraph, the first part of the essay, raises the question which is directly related to the topic of the essay: the relationship between learning and the marks of an educated man, that between learning and education, and that between education as well as certain traits and capacities which have to be gained by conscious efforts. The sixth paragraph mentions and explains the fifth trait of the educated man : his possession of efficiency. The writer presents, explains, or discusses the five traits of an educated man in a reasonable and logical manner.
