5 Profile AL HASNAA KEEPS UP WITH THE AGE N ot content with being the first specialized women s magazine in the Arab world when it was established in 1909 at the dawn of the Twentieth century, Al Hasnaa has always looked forward towards the third millennium. Throughout its 98 year history, Al Hasnaa has mirrored the Arab woman and reflected her dreams and aspirations. Its pages have highlighted issues of women s rights and liberalization, and painted the way towards modernism with the brightest colors. A l Hasnaa has crossed many milestones and overcome numerous obstacles in its long history to partner the Arab woman in her march forward. It pioneered modernity, overcame taboos to delve into controversial topics and issues, and opened wide the portals of knowledge. All this whilst maintaining the values, traditions and unique culture of oriental society. T he long road came to full fruition in 1998 when Al Hasnaa joined the family of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group and thus gained access to a much wider readership in the Arab world, not only amongst women, but also husbands and children. And as it prepares to celebrate its first centenary in two years time, Al Hasnaa looks forward to increasingly effective interaction with Arab society. 9 Forum Towards A New Arab Woman A Forum on Leadership and Social Responsibility A l T he T he Hasnaa has always chosen to be the standard bearer and voice of Arab women. As part of this role and in advancing a stronger, educated, committed and able Arab woman, Al Hasnaa Magazine is organizing the New Arab Woman Forum in cooperation with Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group, the leading conference organizer in the Arab World. Forum will be held in Dubai on October 23 and 24, 2007 and will bring together more than 500 personalities and leaders in various fields. Forum aims at following up the transformation underway in the role and world of Arab women, as well as to discern future trends and challenges. Do not use LZW compression, JPEG file formats or JPEG previews for EPS files. All type in finished EPS graphic files (such as logos, fonts, etc.) must be converted to shapes. Provide current full-size colour proofs of their files. It is recommended to supply both composite and separated versions. We do not guarantee a colour match with colour proofs made on an uncalibrated device. Although many consumer colour printers create pleasing colour, most of these devices are not capable of providing an accurate calibrated colour proof.
