3 1. INTRODUCTION VU-IT! On Demand brings you a large library of program titles, including movies, television shows, premium subscription programs and music videos. Many of the titles allow free, unlimited viewing while some programs are only available for purchase or through a subscription. The VU-IT! On Demand service consists of: Movies Enjoy hundreds of new releases, foreign films, classics and much more. Events Watch encore shows of championship boxing, wrestling, concerts, events and other favorites. Premium Channels Through subscription, you will have access to premium entertainment such as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, The Movie Channel and Starz. Subscription Television More subscription offerings include CNN, AMC, COMEDY CENTRAL, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon and adult channels. Free On Demand There are more than 100 hours of free programs including your favorite movies for, family and kids, concerts and music videos. 3 VU-IT ON DEMAND

8 3. PARENTAL CONTROLS Many parents are concerned about their children watching unsuitable programming. VU-IT! offers control over the programming and content that children can access; the Parental Controls settings enable parents to use ratings to block what conte can be viewed. To set up and use Parental Controls: Step 1: Highlight Settings & Messages in TiVo Central. Highlight Parental Controls and press Select. 8 VU-IT ON DEMAND

13 4. PURCHASE CONTROLS The Purchase Control feature allows you to restrict the renting of titles. Once restricted, the program can only be rented by entering the Purchase Control Code, or PIN. To set up and use Purchase Controls: Step 1: Highlight Settings & Messages in TiVo Central. Highlight Purchase Controls and press Select. 13 VU-IT ON DEMAND

16 5.1 ON DEMAND INTERFACE: BROWSE MOVIES ON DEMAND When you launch VU-IT! On Demand, the first screen to appear is the Movies On Demand section. At the top of this screen are subcategories to make it even easier to find exactly what you are looking for. Press the Select button on your remote to obtain additional information on any of the titles listed such as the price, viewing window, actors, director and a brief description of the plot. You can also view movie trailers by selecting Play in the Info section of the movie. 16 VU-IT ON DEMAND

21 5.3 WATCH OR RESUME PLAYBACK OF A MOVIE On Demand movies are available for viewing up to 48 hours from the time of rental. You can pause a movie and resume playback at any time within 48 hours from the time of rental. View movie trailers by selecting Play in the Info section of the movie. To resume playback of a movie: Step 1: Press Select to choose My Rentals, which contains your rented movies that are available for viewing. 21 VU-IT ON DEMAND

25 5.4 BROWSE TV ON DEMAND Most popular cable programming such as HBO and other premium channels, as well as CNN, AMC, COMEDY CENTRAL, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon and others are available by subscription only. If you have a current subscription to one or more of these channels, all of their content for that channel will be available to you. If you do not have a subscription but are interested in one, call your Service Provider. To watch one of these programs: Step 1: Use or the Select button to launch VU-IT! On Demand. Step 2: Go to Find TV, Movies, & Videos. Highlight the TV On Demand option and press Select. 25 VU-IT ON DEMAND

6. PLAYBACK AND TRICK PLAY After entering the Playback of an asset several trick play options are available for use through selection on the trick play

32 6. PLAYBACK AND TRICK PLAY continued Step 2: To pause an asset while in play use Select or on the RCU, this will pause the asset and bring up the time indicator and trick play bar. To resume play select the in the trick play bar or on the remote control. 32 VU-IT ON DEMAND

33 6. PLAYBACK AND TRICK PLAY continued Step 3: To Rewind an asset select in the trick play bar or on the remote control. Selecting again will increase the rewind speed with rewind speeds at 30x, 60x, and 120x. 33 VU-IT ON DEMAND

36 7. SEARCH CONTENT To begin the Search function, use the keypad to enter specific movie title, TV Title, Actor or Director. Step 1: Highlight Search and press Select. 36 VU-IT ON DEMAND

40 8. MY ACCOUNT My Account in the VU-IT! Application can be used to select information about the user s account including My Rentals, Recently Watched, My Information and Closed Captioning settings. Step 1: Navigate to the My Account main category at the bottom of the screen. 40 VU-IT ON DEMAND

8.2 RECENTLY WATCHED Selecting Recently Watched in my rentals brings the user to the recently watched page where a list of assets order from most recently viewed are displayed.

44 8.3 CLOSED CAPTIONING Selecting the Closed Captioning option in the My Account Category will allow the user to toggle off and on the closed captioning Step 1: Select the Closed Captioning option under the My Account Category. 44 VU-IT ON DEMAND
