In January 1916, the province of Manitoba granted women the right to vote in provincial elections. Women in Saskatchewan and Alberta followed shortly afterwards. The anniversary of women s suffrage in Canada provides an opportunity to look back on the lives of these exceptional women and, by sharing their stories of perseverance and determination, inspire young Canadian women today. You can attend the forum either on-line or in-person at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec. You can learn more about this learning opportunity at Women s History Month October is Women s History Month in Canada. It is a time for Canadians to celebrate the achievements of women and girls as trailblazers throughout our history. It is also an opportunity for Canadians to learn about the important contributions of women and girls over time to our society and quality of life. The theme for 2015 is Her Story, Our Story: Celebrating Canadian Women. Visit for ideas and resources on how to celebrate Women s History Month.
