22 Darin Anderson Article By: Meghan Ravenscroft Darin Anderson has a passion for helping people with disabilities get into gyms so that they can work out and feel good about themselves. Recently Darin has taken his enthusiasm to a whole new level by helping at the Caldwell Pediatric Therapy Center & New Jersey All People Equal (NJ APE) - In Play Programs. NJAPE advocates for the inclusive recreation, fitness, adapted physical education, and wellness services for individuals who are differently able. At the Caldwell Pediatric Therapy Center, Darin works and helps children who are autistic. He makes exercising fun for the children, but makes sure that they keep active. He also talks to parents about his experiences with therapy. He wants to help parents fight for rights as well as to get funding for more fitness in school districts. Not only does he help children, but Darin is also very eager to assist CAU members with gym memberships. He believes that gyms will help members with their frustrations and their self esteem. Darin s main goal is to become a personal trainer and a physical therapist s assistant. Eventually he wants to go on to Montclair State University to do the Adaptive Fitness Program.
