2 Christina Rossetti's simle oem "Sring Quiet" evokes the shady leasures of a sring afternoon sent in solitude. Its imagery includes a "robin," a "thrush," a "cool green house," and even "whisering" air, enticing us to rest eacefully. The sea, erhas reresenting the rush of the outside world, sounds faintly in the distance. I interret Rossetti's vision as an invitation to find a quiet sace within ourselves desite the chaos around us. Notareschi exlores the assionate, irreverent, and transcendent in her many comositions for chamber ensemble, large ensemble, and chorus. Born in Canton, Ohio and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, she has received awards from the IronWorks Percussion Duo, the American Comosers Forum, Ensemble Eleven, and the GALA Choruses. Her music has been erformed in Manchester, England; in New York City at Symhony Sace and the Paul Recital Hall in Lincoln Center; and in other cities across the U., including Denver, where she makes her home. Notareschi is an assistant rofessor of music at Regis University and a faculty member of The Walden School. She holds a Masters and PhD in comosition from the University of California at Berkeley, a Bachelor of Music in comosition from the University of Southern California, and the General Diloma from the Zoltàn Kodàly Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kecskemèt, Hungary, where she was a Fulbright Scholar. Her rimary teachers in comosition have been Morten Lauridsen, Erica Muhl, Rick Lesemann, Cindy Cox, and Jorge Liderman.
