2 ELECTRODELESS MAGNETIC FLOWMETER (MICROPROCESSOR BASED) The Series 10DX3121 Magetic Flowmeter is a smart pulsed DC type volumetric, liquid flow rate detector. It utilizes the properties of a coductive fluid to geerate a iduced voltage whe flowig through a magetic field. The amplitude of the voltage, thus produced, is directly proportioal to the flow rate of the metered liquid. A characterized o-uiform magetic field desig sigificatly reduces sesitivity to flow profile effects. The meter's maget coils are powered by a maget driver uit. This uique method of maget coil drive provides total zero poit stability. The flow sigal developed by this magetic flowmeter is processed by Sigal Coverter Model 50CM2000 which ca be mouted remotely o a wall or 2-ich pipe. This flowmeter is similar to the Series 10DX0 Magetic Flowmeter with the exceptio that the 10DX3121 Flowmeter does ot have electrodes wetted by the process. The electroics portio of the magetic flowmeter shall iclude both a maget driver to power the maget coils ad a sigal coverter. The sigal coverter shall be remote mouted ad shall be Series 50CM2000.remote mouted ad shall be Series 50CM2000. The meter shall be hydraulically calibrated at a facility located i the Uited States ad the calibratio shall be traceable to the Natioal Istitute of Stadards ad Techology. The accuracy of the meterig system shall be 1% of rate for flow velocities of 2.6 to 37 feet per secod. The meter size shall be from 1" to 12". Total zero stability shall be a iheret characteristic of the meter system to elimiate the eed to zero adjust the system with a full pipe at zero flow. 6 SMART DC SIGNAL CONVERTER Model 50CM2000 The Series 50CM2000 Magetic Flowmeter Sigal Coverter is a m-processor based DC uit. The coils of the magetic flowmeter are excited with pulsed DC curret i order to geerate the magetic field. As a coductive liquid passes through this magetic field, a electrical voltage is iduced which is directly proportioal to its velocity. The voltage is sesed by o-wetted electrodes ad set to the coverter which digitally processes these sigals ad cofigures them ito aalog ad digital output sigals. Desig Features µ-processor based coverter for use with the Model 10DX3121 Electrodeless Primary. Exteral totalizer reset cotact is software cofigurable. Dual rage is stadard. Data Cofiguratio All database iterrogatios ad chages are addressed through the three pushbuttos show below. >F % >F gal. Eter Data Step C/CE They are idetified as Data, Step, ad C/CE. To gai access to the data base, it is ecessary to leave the ormal moitorig mode ad eter the cofiguratio mode. This is accomplished by pressig the C/CE pushbutto. The various parameters of the data base ca the be viewed by movig up or dow through the meu by pressig either the Data or Step pushbuttos. Data is accessed ad chages etered by pressig Data ad Step simultaeously. They costitute the Eter butto. If o etries or chages are made, the uit will revert to the moitorig mode after about 20 secods. There are two ways to make chages to the database. Oe is by eterig umeric values, ad the other is by makig a selectio from the meu. Numbers are etered by usig the Data ad Step buttos. The Data butto is used to select umbers 0 through 9, decimal poit, etc. The Step butto is used to move to the ext digit.
