To create your new cereal box cover, you will need: A covering for your cereal box. Construction/wrapping paper or paint is recommended. Please do NOT use glitter. A clever and creative title. Alliteration is a fantastic way to be creative here. At least one large image of the individual who is the subject of your book report. 4. At least four additional images that reflect your person. These images can reflect their interests/hobbies, personality, home, profession, etc. Examples: Step 2: Life Facts On the side of your cereal box where Nutritional Facts are located, you will use the template provided in this packet to write three facts for each category for your individual s life. Please write your facts in complete, detailed sentences. Early Life (Three Facts) Later Life (Three Facts) Professional Accomplishments (Three Facts)

2 Step 3: Important Quote and Its Significance On the back of your cereal box, you will select a quote that the subject of your autobiography/biography once stated. Using this quote, you will write a paragraph (six-to-eight sentences) that helps explain its overall meaning and significance. Paragraph 1 Requirements: Grabber/Hook Sentence Reveal quote and explain when it was stated (if you do not know, try to make an educated guess) Explain what the quote means to you in at least two-three sentences. 4. Explain why you think the person said this particular statement and what it means to their life in two-three sentences. 5. Thoughtful conclusion sentence that leaves the reader thinking. Step 4: Important Life Event and Its Significance For the next step, you will select an important event that occurred in your individual s life and explain its impact on that person and the world in one detailed paragraph. Paragraph 2 Requirements: Grabber/Hook Sentence State what the important event is and when it occurred in your person s life. Explain how this event impacted this person s life in at least two-three sentences. 4. Explain how this event impacted the world in at least two-three sentences. 5. Thoughtful conclusion sentence that leaves the reader thinking. Step 5: Word Art Underneath your paragraphs on the back of your cereal box, you will create a Word Art that uses at least twelve adjectives that explain your individual s personality, goals, career, and accomplishments. You may use Tagxedo, Wordle, or ABCya to help you complete this task. If you need assistance or would like to print this Word Art in school, I will be happy to help you. Please ask or me! Step 6: Acrostic Poem On the side of the cereal box opposite your Life Facts, you will write the letters of your person s first and last name. If their name is too large, please speak to me so that we can make other arrangements. Using an acrostic poem format, write a sentence for each letter that says something meaningful about your individual. Please include at least three instances of figurative language like alliteration, idiom, onomatopoeia, simile/metaphor, etc. Use this poem to comment on your individual s life and impact on the world. *Remember to proofread all work and make sure that you have worked within the report requirements to earn the best possible grade that you can.*
