7 Activity Ideas for Teachers The following activities can be used with the Flip Book. All of the activities have supporting materials. The page numbers where the materials can be found are provided. All Things Royal Directions 1. Distribute copies of the handout on page Instruct the students to work individually, in pairs, or in groups to complete the handout. 3. Define the word jester and show the students the picture of a jester on the handout. Explain that a jester is an entertainer who tries to be funny by singing funny songs or doing funny things. 4. Read aloud the sentences that are on the student handout. Have the students use their flip books to help them complete the sentences with words that could be seen or heard in a royal palace. Answer Key: 1. blown 2. blush 3. bring 4. crown 5. trick Lightning Flashes Directions 1. Distribute copies of the handout on page Instruct the students to work individually, in pairs, or in groups to complete the handout. 3. Explain to the students that they should fill in each bolt of lightning with a word that starts with the letter blend fl and has a short vowel sound. They should use their flip books to help them.
