2 The stock stories for story writing. Concentrate on the following. Four Bulls Woodcutter The Lion and the Rabbit The Tiger and a Gold Bangle An Old Farmer and Four Idle Sons A Cunning Fox and a Foolish goat A Cunning Fox and a Foolish Crow The Hungry Fox The Foolish Lion Rotten Apples Bad company Sample story Wood cutter cutting tree- on a river bank- axe slips-falls into water wood cutter sad river god appears from water offers golden axe wood cutter refuses god offers silver axe wood cutter refuses god offers iron own axe woodcutter happy accepts axe god very pleased honest woodcutter gives all three axes. Ans. HONEST WOODCUTTER Once there was a woodcutter. He was very poor but honest. Every day he used to go for woodcutting for winning his daily bread. One day, he was cutting a tree on a river bank. The axe slipped and fell into water. He became sad and he was looking at the river. Suddenly, the River God came out of water and offered him a golden axe. The woodcutter refused to take it because it was not his axe. Then, the River God offered him a silver axe. But he did not take it saying that it was not his axe.

3 Finally, the River God went into the water, came out and offered an iron axe. The woodcutter accepted it happily because it was his own axe. The River God felt very happy with the honesty of the woodcutter and gave him three axes. Moral: Honesty is the best policy PAPER-II, PART-A, Question No :13 10 Marks Letter writing Letters are divided into two kinds. 6 LAY OUT OF PERSONAL LETTER AND BUSINESS LETTER Personal Letter Heading Business Letter Heading Salutation, Body of the Letter Heading Superscription Salutation, Body of the Letter Subscription Signature Superscription Subscription Signature Note: At 10 th class TM level usage of Sub: in business letter is optional. Tips for writing a good letter It is a great source of bagging more marks. Two letters are asked. Usually, one personal letter and one business letter. You have to answer one out of the two questions. Whenever you read the question on letter writing you recognise whether it comes under personal letter or business letter. Then only you can write the letter according the layout. Take care of writing the six parts as they are in the lay-out. Free from grammar and spelling mistakes. Maintain perfect punctuations and good hand. Try to write entire letter on one entire page. So that you can show entire letter to the examiner at a glance.
