1 Issue 128 April 2018 Among the guiding principles on styles and methods of learning is the recognition that the pleasures of learning are a driving force in U3As and that U3A members see themselves as both learners and teacher. The Chairman s Message ENDERBY AREA NEWSLETTER Dear All I hope that you had a good Easter Holiday. Next September we shall need people to come on to the committee as the Chairman, secretary and treasurer are standing down. Please consider joining the committee. The secretary's job can be split in 2. One person taking minutes and the other receiving data from U3A HQ and passing it on to the committee. The Enderby U3A cannot function and will fold unless we have a committee so PLEASE THINK OF STANDING. Karen and Angela need you to submit your questions for Radio Leicester's DOWN TO EARTH PROGRAMME as soon as possible. Please sign up so they know how many are coming. I hope you enjoyed the speaker last month. I did not expect that as the saying goes, but found it very entertaining. The last cinema event did not cover the cost of running it. We need more of you to come. I asked if it was the wrong time, the wrong day, thats stopping people attending. No one phoned or ed me so we are none the wiser on this problem. Pat Harrison (chair) Items for newsletters Items for April Newsletter should be sent to esther_e_jones@hotmail.com with a copy to; mpollyjo@tiscali.co.uk (Margaret and Colin Marshall). By May 4th please. Trips and Social Holiday Eastbourne - Turkey and tinsel 12th to 16th November 2018 cost per person. Thank you for all the deposits If you have any special request for the holiday please let me know, like walk in shower etc, see me at meeting or phone Margaret Marshall 1
