About Calliope Productions Calliope Productions is a year-round non-profit theatre company founded by Kathy and Dave Ludt in In 1991 Calliope started a Youth Theatre Program to satisfy the performing needs and interests of area students. Calliope operates Pre-Teen Youth Theatre Workshops each Spring and Fall, as well as month-long Theatre Workshops for Teens and Pre-Teens every summer. Each year more than 120 students from eight different communities participate in Calliope s Youth Theatre Program. All workshops and performances are held at Calliope s facility at 150 Main Street in Boylston, MA. 4 Calliope s Fall 2004 Pre-Teen Program for Students Ages 8-12 opens up a Morning Workshop Session Because of the popularity of Callliope s Pre-Teen Theatre Workshop Programs that normally meet on Saturday afternoons in the Fall and Spring, we are opening up a second session that will meet on Saturday mornings in the fall, for which there are still some openings. Both workshop sessions begin on Saturday, September 18, and conclude with performances on the weekend of November 6 & 7. The Afternoon Session will run from 1 pm - 3 pm, and the Morning Session will run from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. Both groups will be working on a staging of The Town Without a Name, a one-act musical by Jill Gallina that deals with an imaginary town inhabited by gnomes, elves, and leprechauns, who all live in peace and harmony until a family of trolls arrives and decides to give the town a name and put it on the map. The Morning Session will present its performances of The Town Without a Name on Saturday, November 6, at 5 pm & 6:30 pm. The Afternoon Session will present its performances on Sunday, November 7, at 2 pm & 3:30 pm. Those students already registered for the regular Afternoon Session will be given the option of switching to the Morning Session. All registrations are accepted on a first-come basis. Enrollment deadline is September 8, 2004 (or when capacity is reached).
