3 MAIN ATTRACTIONS Main Attractions What main films will play at the Hiway? Predicting in advance what films will play at our beloved one-screen Hiway is the biggest challenge that we face. It is very hard to know ahead of time. The films listed here are an educated guess. Our website is always the best place to get up-to-the-minute information. Scheduling our main films is weekto-week. On Monday, we decide what main film will play starting that Friday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we set the showtimes for the upcoming week and then update our website and telephone hotline. We also send out a weekly (sign up at our website). Sometimes, we book a main film a few weeks in advance, which we post on our website. For our latest Main Attractions plans, visit: HiwayTheater.org. (Or call our Hotline at ) A Star is Born USA - Bradley Cooper 2 hrs 15 min Jenkintown native Bradley Cooper moves behind the camera and makes his directorial debut with a reimagining of this classic Hollywood tale. An aging musician helps a young singer and actress find fame, even as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral. With a breakout performance by Lady Gaga and also starring Sam Elliott and Dave Chappelle. First Man USA - Damien Chazelle 2 hr 18 min Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling team up again (after La La Land) to tell the story of Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon. Set in the years leading up to the launch of Apollo 11, Armstrong and the country prepare for this daring achievement. Next year, of course, will be the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. With Claire Foy and Kyle Chandler. Widows USA - Steve McQueen 2 hr 8 min Following up his Best Picture-winning 12 Years a Slave, director Steve McQueen returns with a thrilling heist film starring Viola Davis. Set in modern day Chicago, a group of women, left with the debt created by their husbands criminal activities, conceive of a plan to realign their lives. WIDOWS features a screenplay co-written by novelist Gillian Flynn and crafted by the expert hand of McQueen. Mary Queen of Scots UK - Josie Rourke Saoirse Ronan stars as Mary Stuart in this elegant and fascinating period piece set in the 16th century. After becoming the Queen of France at 16 and being widowed at 18, Mary returns to her native Scotland and is embroiled in the politics of religion and the contentious claims for the throne of England. Also starring Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I.

4 Special programs AUTUMN 2018 H Classic Thursdays The Hiway Theater has a new year-round film series: Classic Thursdays. We will have a classic film every other Thursday night. Dates subject to change. Due to the fact that we are a single screen theater, we occasionally must postpone special classic screenings. This happens due to unavoidable contractual obligations with our distributors. Any change will be announced at least a week ahead of time, and will result in pushing the date forward or back one week. So before you come, please check our website or hotline for confirmation. Why? Because that s how the movie biz works. Believe us, we wouldn t have this subject to change policy if we didn t have to. (If we made the rules, we d show 3 or 4 different films every week!) But that s not how the movie business works, so we must be flexible in programming these special titles. All things considered, this is the best way to bring you the most varied programs possible. Stay up-to-date by . The best way to be aware of everything happening at the Hiway is to get our weekly . You can sign up right from our website. Each week, we will let you know about the Hiway s upcoming films and events. We ll also let you know about the screenings at our sister theater, the Ambler, which members can attend for the same member price as the Hiway. Ticket prices for Classic Thursdays. Our normal ticket prices apply to Classic Thursdays, except for young cineastes: patrons 25 and younger will only be charged an admission of $3 for this series.
