1 HME Community Newsletter July and August 2016 Letter from the President Dear neighbors, By Joe Devine I was browsing social media when I came across a list of 25 things that everyone should do this summer. The fine people at Google know their demographic very well, and I was quickly engrossed in what activities were a must. Out of the 25 listed, I realized 19 were activities that we have the opportunity to do within our own neighborhood. They included having BBQs, bonfires, and picnics, making fruity drinks, planting gardens, having or attending garage sales, taking walks in nature, and volunteering. HME falls short in the categories of attending a drive-in movie (although the Tantaros family will sponsor a movie night) and fireworks (though you never know what Keith Kokat may have up his sleeve). attend and enjoy the summer with old and new friends. Keep an eye on your account to stay up to date on various social functions throughout the summer in addition to our annual neighborhood parties. Last month s newsletter went out before I had the opportunity to thank Jim Schaffer for the great work he did moving the wood chips and creating a bike parking area for the neighborhood at the pool. It looks fantastic! If anyone has any other ideas for projects or improvements, please let me know. I can be reached at joedevine2000@yahoo.com.
