2 PAPER I MUSIC RECOGNITION The maximum score for the task is 24 points. For each element of the task (i.e. for each question marked with a low-case letter) the examinee will receive 1 or depending on whether the answer is correct or not. No extra or half (0.5) points may be awarded. Answers which have been crossed out cannot be evaluated. Incorrect spelling of composers names will result in a loss of points in the music historical essay only. In music recognition the only scoring criterion is correctness of content. (Except for the music historical essay, it is sufficient to mention the composer s surname.) Correcting guide (24 points) 1. a) (L. van) Beethoven b) Symphony No. 5 / in C minor / ( Fate ) / 4th mvmt / c) Viennese Classicism /Classical music 2. a) Béla Bartók b) Concerto c) versenymű 3. a) (J. 3 PAPER II MUSIC HISTORICAL ESSAY WRITING Music Historical Essay Correcting guide (3s) No points are deducted for incorrect spelling or grammar. Illegible or uninterpretable answers, however, will be considered wrong. Incorrect spelling of musical terms and names of composers results in a loss of points. The following rules apply concerning the writing of names of composers: in case of Hungarian composers the full name should appear once (e.g. Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, Sándor Szokolay, etc.). If the name appears in the paper several times, it is enough to write the full name only once. With foreign composers, the family name is sufficient (e.g. Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc.). Full names will not yield extra points, incorrect spelling of the family name, however, will result in a loss of points. The music historical essay may be awarded 0-3s. Solution Music historical authenticity The essay keeps to the given topic; music historical facts are presented, their relationships are correctly interpreted There are errors in content There are fundamental deficiencies in content Scoring 17 points points deducted accordingly Formal and logical construction, content of the exposition, clear sentence structure The text is clear, its wording is to the point 6 8 points The content is adequate but the notions and conclusions are 1 5 points not always logical Incorrect statements and conclusions are characteristic, the structure of the text is haphazard The use of music terminology Statements are professionally correct Terms are scarcely employed, they are circumscribed Terminology is used or spelled incorrectly, composers names are misspelled 4 5 points 1 3 points Maximum score: points, total: 3s írásbeli vizsga / május 16.
