2 welcome Welcome to Vox Musica's tenth musical season: a season that includes four stellar concert projects in the greater Sacramento area. This subscription season features collaborative concert projects with local musicians, composers, educators, artisans, and arts organizations. As we celebrate ten years ofvox Musica serving and enriching our community, we are excited to continue bringing our audiences something daring and innovative! MAACAM: American River is a unique collaborative concert project between the Sacramento-based violinist-looper, singer, and composer Joe Kye, resident composer Derek Sup, and Vox Musica. The evening will feature re-imagined choral works as well as original compositions inspired by Sacramento's rich history and landscape. The centerpiece of the concert is Sup's new composition "American River;' a work commissioned by Vox Musica and Joe Kye celebrating the spirit of that great waterway and all who have lived along it. This is an extremely significant concert project on many levels and it promises to be among the most exciting and innovative performances this year.
