Beamlines vs Slots A Beamline is a sequence of beamline elements. Examples: SecNons (ISrc, LEBT RFQ, MEBT, DTL, etc ) SubsecNons (DTL- 01, DTL- 02, ) HEBT (includes secnons UHB, DgLg, A2T, DmpL) srcess (the whole accelerator) A Slot is a beamline that has a device name. Examples: HBL-EMR:Cmd-01 (cryomodule) DTL-EMR:Tnk-03 (DTL tank) RFQ-EMR:Mdl-01 (RFQ module)

Classes There are two Classes in the preprocessing filter: Each row in the tracwin file is represented by an instance of the class TracewinRecord. The laece is represented as an instance of the newlaece class, which include a list of Tracewin records.
TracwinRecord Field examples Boolean iscommand iscomment isslot isbeginslot isbeginsecnon isbeginsubsecnon isendslot isendsecnon isendsubsecnon ismarker Integer subsecnonid secnonid devicetypeid disciplineid String tag command quannfier name
Set sectionid All Tracewin records starnng from from ;beginsecnon <tag> unnl the record before next beginning of a secnon is assigned the same secnon ID from the naming database. Issue: There is no naming database integrated with the laece database yet - Temporary solunon: Use reference files (csv format) exported from the sandbox naming database (filemaker).

Set subsection ID All Tracewin records starnng from ;beginsecnon unnl the record before next beginning of a subsecnon or secnon is assigned the same subsecnon ID from the naming database.
Subsection reference file ID Name ParentID SecNon Id is given by mapping the tag to the secnon reference name. Subsection map is read from a csv file exported from sandbox naming database (filemaker). ValidaNon of subsecnon name. Reference to SubsecNon Id used in naming database.
Pairing of slots IdenNfy beginning and end pair of slots. Tag of slot end is set equal to the slot beginning. Beginning and end of a slot shall be in the same secnon - - If slot beginning and end are in different secnons, the secnon of slot beginning and ends are set to null. Example: beginslot HEBT is in UHB while endslot HEBT is in A2T. Implies that UHB and A2T and secnons in between hall be children of HEBT and not parent. Beginning and end of a slot shall be in the same subsecnon - - If slot beginning and end are in different subsecnons, the subsecnons are set to null. Example: ;beginslot LEBT is in ISrc- 2 while ;endslot LEBT is in ISrc- 3. Implies that LEBT is inside the ISrc secnon, but parent to ISrc- 2 and ISrc- 3. Verify that nesnng of slots are correct.
Section ends Iterate through the Tracewin records. If two adjacent Tracewin records are in different secnons a new record is inserted in between. The new record is assigned secnon end and inherits the secnon and subsecnon from the secnon beginning.
Subsection ends Iterate through the Tracewin records. If two adjacsent Tracewin records are in different subsecnons a new record is inserted in between. The new record is assigned subsecnon end and inherits the secnon and subsecnon ID from the beginning of the subsecnon.
