HWC CURRENT STATUS HWC slowly coming to an end (11 circuits remaining) Quench training of RB.A34 resumed (10881 A) Quench training of RB.A45 is slow (10484 A) PGCs ongoing Pre-cycles and ramps being performed on S12, S23, S56, S67 1

S67: PRE-CYCLE & RAMP RB RQD/F without RQ4.R6B1/2 and RCD.A67B1/2 2

S12 + S23 + S56: PRE-CYCLE S12 S23 S56 without inner triplets 3

S12 + S23 + S56: RAMP S12 S23 S56 without RQX.L/R2, RQ4.L6B1/2, RCDs 4

BEAM INSTRUMENTATION Most systems ready except: BLM (issue in SX4 some cards give wrong data) Wirescanners (firmware update) FBCCM (DIDT) BGI, BQMIM, BGV not ready before TS1 5

COLLIMATORS Collimator tests ongoing (ramps and MP validation) MCS issues to be verified after recent CMW/RDA release Last night: 10 successful ramps with all collimators Application programs & sequencer tasks operational 6

RF RF power in good shape RF cavities conditioned to 2MV RFLL commissioning without beam ongoing tuning for 2 days without access to UX45, Thursday + Friday? ADT amplifier exchanged today and new spare underground 7

REMAINING ISSUES SECTOR TEST A few SPS SIS interlocks for the LHC not fully operational yet. Economy mode interlock on PCs in lines has to be removed. SIS interlocks on BI in lines to be reviewed. TI8 BLM upstream interlock not resettable and always FALSE. > intervention on 19/3 (access) Issue with DCCT3_TI8 FEI and FGC (new software release done) > to be tested (Verena) Vacuum valve in front of MSI-TI2 (VVGS.29528) interlock to SPS EXT1 master BIC > to be tested once extraction conditions established LHC probe beam re-phasing issues, stability issues => often BQM interlocks > threshold could be increased TT40.BTV : switches can t be read > intervention on 19/3 (S.Burger) BTVDD image orientation > on hold until LBDS experts decide on preference MKE4 problem not fixed (instabilities on clipper switch, heater current not stable) > switch replacement on Thursday morning 8

REMAINING ISSUES Controls: issues with CMW/RDA affecting several clients addressed by CO experts; new libraries released, but not yet validated (collimators) CIBDS problem while arming LBDS LBDS-XPOC: Missing BI data: (BCTFR, BSRA, etc..) EN/CV pressure IP5 tunnel/cavern: The air flow is going in the right direction between the different areas but the delta P are worse than before. Investigations and measurements ongoing 9

POSSIBLE ROADMAP Access machine closed Aim for complete machine closure tomorrow late afternoon. o Access still possible if needed after that date. Beam Energy Tracking System (BETS) still on simulation. Proposal: Connection (access) to energy defining circuits on Friday 20 RB , Q4 s MSD s at point 6 BETS tests have to be synchronized with training quench campaign in sector 45. Beware: Vacuum sector valves must be closed for any powering tests! BIS inputs Ideally we should activate all BIS inputs of a given point in one step. Proposal: all remaining channels to be fully connected on Monday 23. Access required to activate BIS inputs. 10
