1 FILTR DP BUILT IN The FILTR 246 bakflushing ontroller designed and manufatured by TALGIL to meet the demands of a low ost easy to use ontroller. The FILTR 246 exists in 3 sizes - with 2, 4 or 6 stations. DC and AC versions are available. The DC versions are powered by a 12v Alkaline battery. The AC versions inlude built-in transformer of 24v. The program seletion is done by two ROTARY SWITCHES and an internal DIP-SWITCH that enables setting some rarely hanging parameters. Optionally an external ounter an be added to ount the number of bakflushing yles. New models are now available with a built-in eletroni Pressure Differential sensor (DP) that enhanes the auray and the reliability of the ontrol system. Test button Rotary swithes DP sensor 1

Built-in eletroni DP sensor A speial test button for initiating immediate test yles Optional ativation ounter Deteting and eliminating irular endless looping PROGRAM SELECTI There are two rotary swithes on the front panel, the right swith selets the FLUSHING MODE and the left swith selets the FLUSHING TIME PER STATI. When the right swith is in the OFF position the ontroller is swithed off and no flushing will take plae. The internal buzzer keeps sounding every 4 seonds to indiate that the ontroller is energized. When the right swith points to the DP position, bakflushing will only take plae when the pressure differential indiation is reeived. When the right swith is on MANUAL position, a single flushing yle is initiated. In all other positions of the right swith, the ontroller will flush aording to the speified yle or upon detetion of the pressure differential signal, the event that ours first. Changing the position of any of the swithes makes the buzzer sound. The right swith will make a longer beep when passing through the OFF position and the left swith will make a longer beep when passing the 10 SEC position. The longer beep helps readjusting the position of knobs when needed. 2

3 ADJUSTING THE POSITI OF THE ROTARY SWITCHES KNOBS 1. Keep turning the rotary swith lokwise until you hear the longer beep. 2. At the right swith, fasten the knob with the arrow pointing on OFF. 3. At the left swith, fasten the knob with the arrow pointing on 10 SEC. SETTING THE CSTANT PARAMETERS At the bottom right orner of the main PCB board there is a blok of DIP-SWITCHES used for setting some onstant parameters. The following drawing whih appears also on the internal side of the ontroller s over, desribes how to set the parameters using the DIP-SWITCHES. 1 = 0 = OFF MAIN VALVE 1 = YES 0 = NO DIP SWITCH CSECUTIVE LOOPS TO BE CSIDERED AS FAILURE ** LOOPS UN EFFECTIVE DELAY UNTIL REACTING DP CHANGES TIME SEC 10 SEC 30 SEC 60 SEC DWELL TIME BETWEEN STATIS TIME SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC When the DP signal keeps arriving after exeuting the speified number of onseutive bak flushing yles, it will be onsidered a failure of endless looping. An alarm sound will indiate the failure and the DP signal will be ignored. If the seleted flushing mode inludes time override, the time based yles will ontinue uninterruptedly with the seleted interval. To reover normal operation when the endless DP signaling stops, the right rotary swith has to be rotated to OFF position and bak to its normal position. MAIN VALVE The unit an ontrol a downstream main valve whih is turned off while flushing to inrease pressure. When suh a main valve is inorporated in the system, DIP SWITCH No. 1 will be set, otherwise it will remain OFF. The main valve will be onneted to output No.2 in FILT'R 2, to output No. 4 in FILTR 4 and to output No. 6 in FILTR 6. 3

4 SETTING THE DP SENSOR The DP sensor is onneted to the hydrauli system by two ommand tubes. A red ommand tube upstream the filter and a blak ommand tube downstream the filter. The PCB that ontrols the DP sensor is separate from the main board. On this PCB another blok of DIP-SWITCHES an be found (S1), these swithes are used for setting the reation point of the DP as indiated in the table below. It will be lighting also when the test button is pushed. 5 THE TEST BUTT Pushing the test button initiates a test yle. A DP signal is generated (green LED is ) and when sensed by the main board a flushing yle is exeuted testing all the system s omponents.
