38 Optios Optios ad accessories For the purpose of expadig the spectrum of applicatios, a wide rage of laser accessories are available for ACI Laser markig systems. These accessory optios iclude, for example, the rotatio axis for markig cylidrical compoets. This eables 360 markig o the circumferece of the workpiece to be processed. Here the rotatio axis is cotrolled by the markig software, which sychroises the laser ad axis. Other features of this software iclude the segmeted labellig of texts ad logos as well as the applicatio of scales o the circumferece. I additio to the rotatio axis, the scope of these system applicatios is also expaded by various laser extractios, diverse liear axes as well as the Visio Pack camera module. Alogside the complete solutios, the use of lasers as OEM laser markers is also possible. This becomes ecessary i the case of ite-gratio ito a existig productio process. ACI Laser provides a extesive rage of accessories for self-itegratio processes. These iclude various types of laser protectio glass as well as software iterfaces specifically developed for commuicatio with higher-level systems. 39 Axis solutios Laser protectio Laser extractio I cojuctio with a stadard objective (F-Theta 163) ad the Workstatio PROFESSIONAL, the y-axis elarges the markig field to 350 mm i the y-directio (refer to page 33). For markig rotatioally symmetrical workpieces, ACI Laser provides a rotatioal axis for itegratio ito the ACI complete solutios. Texts, logos ad graphics are automatically suitably segmeted by the software. For efficiet laser protectio of viewable areas with, for example, itegrated applica-tios, ACI Laser offers laser protectio widows specially customised for the relevat systems ad wavelegths. These allow the user to view the markig area without exposure to hazardous laser radiatio. Oly CE certified protective widows are used for this purpose. Sice the gases, dusts ad other reactio products produced i the laser markig process ca be toxic, ACI Laser offers three differet stadard extractio ad filter systems for ormal markig applicatios: the compact, stadard ad low-oise models. 39

40 Camera Positio Visio Systems CPM (Capturig, Positioig, Markig) Camera for capturig a live or sigle image of the markig area CPM is used for positioig markigs o compoets, workpieces ad objects with the aid of a camera. I the stadard versio, the camera leses are selected to capture the etire markig area. I the Vetus series versio with the fibre lasers, the camera is itegrated i the sca head. I Diode series lasers ad the COTwo Marker, the camera is mouted o the outside of the head. The distortio caused by perspective i the live image captured by the camera is corrected. The sigle image is used for positioig the layout i the graphic area of MagicMark V3. AOI (Automatic Object Idetificatio) Image Processig ad Evaluatio AOI is used for the fully automatic detectio, idetificatio ad measuremet of objects, texts ad codes with complex geometries. The combiatio of object detectio ad laser markig offers a excellet opportuity for quality ad process assurace, ad for icreasig the efficiecy of the process cotrol of may applicatios. AOI captures ad aalyzes the marked area olie via a camera system. The laser markig is directed at the object fully automatically, ad afterwards ca be checked by the labellig. Aother field of applicatio for AOI is readig 1D ad 2D codes ad optical character recogitio (OCR). The AOI high-ed camera system is desiged to meet customer-specific techical requiremets, ad to be suitable for the geometric properties of the object to be labelled. For applicatios requirig higher resolutio, CPM eables eve smaller areas of the markig field to be captured with high resolutio by selectig suitable leses, ad processed. I the area of laser markig software, MagicMark V3 sets ew stadards. The simple operatio of the software s graphical iterface allows fast creatio of complex markig eve for iexperieced PC-users. I additio to its extesive graphic fuctioality, the software offers a Visual Basic programmig module, to facilitate itegratio ito productio lies. Aother highlight is the optio to cotrol the markig software through exteral.net programs. Eve the most complicated data commuicatios ca be easily achieved by usig this method. I this way, additioal ivestmet costs i cliet-specific software solutios ca be avoided. MagicMark V3 is a Widows (WIN 7 32 bit/64 bit recommeded) based markig software that commuicates with the laser via a high-speed USB 2.0 iterface.
