Major Events An Afternoon with Michael Malone Sunday, August 20 at 3:00 pm Reynolda Manor Branch Library On the Same Page s 2017 kick-off event. Forsyth County Public Library and Bookmarks present North Carolina author/screenwriter Michael Malone. He is no stranger to suspense. He s written bestselling mystery novels like Time s Witness and First Lady and he won an Emmy Award for his intense story lines on the daytime drama One Life to Live. Join us on the 20th, when he'll talk about what it takes to craft a good mystery. A book signing will follow. Light refreshments will be provided. No registration is required. Bookmarks Festival of Books and Authors Saturday, September 9 from 9:30 am - 5 pm Downtown Winston-Salem Visit Forsyth County Public LIbrary and On the Same Page s booth at Bookmarks street festival, and learn more about the library and On the Same Page s programs for Enjoy a panel discussion with our features author Margaret Maron at 3:45 in the sanctuary of Calvary Moravian Church. Ms. Maron will be signing books afterwards. Death at the Library: A Murder Mystery Party Saturday, September 30 at 6:00 pm Central Library Auditorium On the Same Page s special finale event for Local author Blake Worthington makes an appearance at the brand-new Central Library to promote his bestselling mystery novel Murder Unto Death. But it doesn't seem likely that he will survive the evening when the grim reaper stalks the stacks and every member of the library staff has it in for him. Is Blake a goner? If so, it's up to the audience to help figure out whodunit! Pay close attention so you don't miss any clues, but most of all, have fun! Recommended for ages 13 and up. An elderly Sherlock Holmes visits Old Gao, a Chinese apiarist, to study his bees...and distill something crucial from them. Light refreshments will be provided. This month, our members are going to choose recipes out of The Mystery Writers of America Cookbook, with submissions by bestselling mystery/thriller authors like Mary Higgins Clark, Lee Child, Sue Grafton, and Louise Penny. Anyone is welcome to join, but you MUST bring a dish from this cookbook to share with the group! Just swing by the Clemmons Branch in the weeks leading up to the meeting and select a recipe.
